So I'm new to this & of course I'm wanting to know more, wanting to experiment more. I've only been vaping for 3 days (today is my 4th). I'm possibly going to get a VV/VW dohickey, but I wanted to get an idea of what you guys think is the optimum wattage.

I know it's personal & you probably like different eLiquids at different wattages. However, for the sake of this exercise, could you please humor me. I seriously doubt there will be any consensus, but maybe there will be some kind of mean.....

I'm also trying to understand why manufacturers have settled on what they have for their "default" products. They all use 3.7 volt batteries & 2.4 ohm coils, or something pretty close. I would have thought there would be norms similar to "full-flavored" "Light" & "Ultra-Lights" making it "simpler" for the casual user..... so

I found this chart where this guy defines what he believes to be optimal.

What wattage (or voltage/coil combination) do you use most frequently? & if it's "specific" to a particular eJuice, go ahead & mention that as well.

Ideal wattage varies so much - not only by user preference and juice differences but especially by delivery device. I might vape a 2ohm coil in my rebuildable at 15 watts but that would make smoke pour out of my evod.

I think a great set-up for a new vaper is an ego-twist or vision spinner + a clearo like a kanger evod. You can forget the charts and just use the adjustment wheel like a volume knob. Too weak? Turn it up. Tastes burnt? Turn it down. You can also buy replacement heads in any resistance offered and use them (I think evods go from 1.8ohm - 2.5ohm). Just turn your pv up or down to accommodate.

Then one day, when you're saying to yourself "I'm really happy with this vape but I want to spend a whole bunch of time and money to see if I can be even *more* happy", check into mech mods, rbas, dna 20/30's and all that good stuff.

I only use voltage on my iTaste, not a fan of using wattage on it at all. Tastes better when I use volts.

voltage is the amount of power given by the battery. watts is the overall power after the voltage and resistance is applied.

to find out your normal wattage, use ohms law.

Depends on my equipment and e-liquid. Here's what makes me happy currently

mech mod / Kayfun 3.1 clone / single microcoil 1.4 ohms / 9.78 watts @ 3.7 volts nominal
mech mod / Nimbus RDA clone / dual coil 0.8 ohms total / 17.11 watts total (8.56 watts per coil) @ 3.7 volts nominal

Obviously wattage will vary according to battery condition.
