When using a VV/VW mod...

I am about to receive a Vamo v3 - my first VW and VV mod. I have been using a VV device and am comfortable with changing the volts to suit my clearos and the type of juice I am using.

My question is: Is it better to adjust your mod using the VW and let the mod auto-adjust your volts? or is it best to adjust your watts?

If you adjust your watts, are their tips and tricks (besides Ohm's Law, which I can do if needed). I am sure their is a thread somewhere to read up on this, which I appreciate anyone who knows where it is.

My first VV mod was a Provari. I have since got my hands on the Sigelei Zmax V3 and the Innokin iTaste SVD which are both VW. I find that I use them both in variable wattage mode and just dial to taste. There really aren't any tips/tricks IMO. You just find your sweet spot, set it and forget it.

Use watts. It will make your life easier. Start low-ish and slowly work up to somewhere comfortable. You may want to adjust a little up or down depending on the type of atomizer or to get the best flavour out of a liquid but, for the most part, you can set it and forget it.

Use whichever is easiest for you to wrap your head around, believe me the e-liquid really doesn't give a damn which mathematical formula you use to get to the same place.

Interesting chart. I am going to bookmark that to use for playing around until I get comfortable.

I am glad to hear it is a personal preference adjustment. Just don't want to blow my coils or anything, but I suppose the value in the mod is that it will not fire if something isn't right, right?

I'm not so sure that's wise...popping coils on attys can cost, not to mention there are definite, clear guidelines in place. Each coil (doesn't matter atty) has a resistance, which has an optimal voltage and wattage range it should be operated at. We don't really get to choose that if we want longevity and maximum vapor performance. More voltage or wattage doesn't always negate more vapor, just more juice usage. But again, this is based on the coils resistance, not just "our" liking it.

Wattage is the easiest to deal with, however, with voltage I just add 2.1 or 2.2 to the resistance and I get the optimal range for voltage. An example would be a 1.5 ohm coil running on 3.7v = optimal.

I believe on the v3, they got rid of the other mode.

i being the current going through the wire, use vw and let the computer chip in the cig calculate the rest, consistent hits for me.
