I actually saw a link on Foxnews to an e-cig company with a video from Dr. Manny on there talking about it being an alternative. I checked out that company and then, after choking on the prices, found this forum and the rest is history!

p.s. Kate just couldn't resist, she HAD to do a poll! I knew she wouldn't be able to stop herself! ;)

Kind of stupid, but I was on a political forum and someone posted a link to an e-cig site. "the future of smokers is here" was the title of the thread. Apparently most of the folks on that forum are non-smokers, and they all basically said "yeah so what?"

But, I went nuts researching the crap out of all things e-cig. Got an njoy, and was sort of disappointed, so now I'm a puresmoker customer. Cash is the best.

Now I spend more time in THIS forum. You guys rock. :thumb:

... and then you were hooked ... it's a slippery slope ... those who start are never the same again ;)

I think the BBC introduced a lot of people to ecigs, they did a pretty good article about them not long ago. UK sellers were bombarded with new customers and loads of newbies turned up at the forum.

This is something a lot of smokers have been waiting for. It's a pity the technology isn't better and safety isn't assured yet.

A friend bought one a few weeks back and from her description, until I saw it, I assumed it was going to be something those old plastic mock cigs that were around in the 80's, a bit of a joke.

I ribbed her about it mercilessly until it arrived and she let me have a 'puff'. For once I was speechless (doesn't happen often). It was a super-mini, which I know now is not the best example of a good e-cig, but I was still impressed.

I then forgot all about it until I was lurking on the Ebay forum to find out what they were all fighting about this week (I don't watch much TV, but who needs it with some of the entertainment on there!!) and spotted a thread about e-cigs. The link to this site was there too. I clicked on it and that's me now hopefully on the road to giving up the evil weed thanks to you lot.

June 14, 2008--I was watching 'old commercials' on YouTube just outta boredom, saw an old 1960s ad for Salem so I started doing a search for cigarette commercials, and one of the links was a CURRENT commercial for an NJOY.

Never heard of e-cigs before that, but I was intrigued. Did a search on them, found this terrific site--and was surprised at all the people saying "I don't smoke real cigs anymore".

I thought "yeah right" but I was desperate to quit smoking, so I sent for one thinking it would just be some novelty item--a week later I was off cigs!

Same exact situation as BadSeed. Was reading BBC news online and saw an article about smoking with pics or video of people vaping at a pub.

Being a smoker for 20 years and an ex candy-raver, I was attracted to the blue LED (shiny shiny bright bright light light), did some googling, found a supplier, and ordered one right away. Found this forum later through a link on the supplier's webpage. Just wish I had done a little more research before making that first purchase.

I first noticed the e-cigarette for sale on the internet last year. However I thought is was an improvement of another device that I had seen being tested out on TV pre 2000 that had finally made it on to the market. Finally today after a lot of googleing I found the thing I was confusing it with technically it's still an e-cigarette although its workings are different.
The device is called the RJR Accord. I remember one guy describing it as smoking chalk dust. Still not found any info if this product ever made the market though.

A non-smoking friend told me about a coworker who beat the campus-wide tobacco ban where he works with e-cigarettes. My workplace will probably start a similar ban in January. Given that there is over a mile to walk to get out of the campus (and end up on a highway....), I figured I could not be caught unprepared with a 22-cigarette a day habit, I dived into e-smoking....
Since I could not call that a personal recommendation (he did not have any idea about whether it was a worthy replacement, other than that his colleague could get through the day), I opted for the non-listed option....

Rochdale...sadly.
Im also a member of a headphone forum and a guy was talking about a gamucci electronic cigarette so I half arsedly searched about then forgot about it, then I had been thinking about stopping smoking and the electronic cig thing came to mind, did some more searching through suppliers websites and chose pillbox's site as it was close to me (so if anything went wrong I could knock on some doors hehehe , since learned there is no issue with these electronic cigs and they all arent cowboys out there) supermini, mini and classic later im trying to find the perfect liquid recipe for me, ive found glycogen really knocks the throat hit for 6 (reduces it and smoothes it out) but I digress.

But yeah, I found this website by searching for electronic cigarette forums on google.
