I used to jones for a cigarette every single time I went somewhere smoking was not allowed. Psychological thing- "you can't do that" makes me instantly want to do it. With vaping, I find that I'm much less bothered by putting it off til later. I'm not a slave to my addiction anymore- it feels more like something I do for pleasure as opposed to something I must do or I will go crazy and take the rest of you down with me so help me god. It feels so freeing. That's got to be the best part for me.

That said, I have to admit that I have semi-stealth vaped in restaurants, movies, doctor's office waiting room, hospital restrooms, and the bank. I say "semi-stealth", because I wasn't really hiding what I was doing, but neither was I flagrantly billowing clouds of vapor around. I'm pretty sure no one even noticed what I was doing, because I've never even gotten a sideways glance out in public, even on the street, where I don't bother trying to be discreet. Then again, I smoked for 28 years, so I may be somewhat oblivious to dirty looks, but honestly, I have had zero pr fallout from vaping, no matter where I've tried it.

I vape at home, work, on my mile walks.... The guys and gals at work are all VERY interested in how my E-cig (Joye 510) works. I sometime carry my DSE701 to work as well... THAT gets their attention! CLOUDS of vapor! I vape in the smoking area though, since that's where my friends hang out....

What's funny is that if you want to be accepted by a non-smoker, you have to stealth vape! LOL! :D

Today, I just vaped at my doctor's office and Barnes & Noble and no one said anything. I just did the double inhale vape, and it wasn't a problem for anyone.

Happy vaping! :vapor:

I was at the bar the other night vaping away near the pool table when I hear the bartender screech "WHO THE **** IS SMOKING OVER THERE?!?"

Kind of made me jump, wasn't expecting a banshee wail.

Walked over and showed it to her, she already knew what PVs are just didn't assume my group would have one amongst the ranks. After that she was totally fine with it.

Afterward a fellow patron sitting at the bar asked if I was trying to show off with it (No.) and if I could put "anything else in there" to which I told him there would be very little point, why risk having to go outside (where it was in the 30's still) to join the smokers or getting ecigs banned at the bar because of a bad apple. Drunk people sometimes...

Earlier that night I had my setup with me at the theater during Avengers, but decided against using it during the movie because of the eGo's insanely bright light. During the credits waiting for the 2 extra clips though I was puffing away, most of the theater had emptied and lights were turned back up.

@FreeFire: Yeah, I did that last night (ie, asked the mgmt/doorman at a club I went to) when I attended a show. Not only were they intrigued and curious about the tech, they were thankful that I took the time (and had the consideration) to ask first. Customers would complain about me "smoking" and they would set the record straight for me and defended me. So far, so good. I've yet to have a negative reaction in Madison, WI. :)

Dallas doesn't allow smoking in bars or restaurants, but I vape in both of them regularly. I've never had a problem. Yesterday, I ate at a mexican food place, and the only people there were me at one table, and a cop sitting with a girl at another table. (Around 2:00, well after lunch rush died down.) I usually read the paper when I eat lunch, and I vape and read the rest of the paper when I'm done eating.

I decided that having a cop in the room wasn't any reason to change that, especially since I've vaped in this same restaurant many times and have never had them question me, much less complain. So I just vaped and read my paper. (Lavatube and a 5ml liquinator tank.) I don't try to blow big clouds of vapor when I'm out, but I don't stealth either. Mostly I don't think about it a lot.

He didn't say anything. Maybe he didn't notice, maybe he didn't care, I dunno.

a few weeks ago we went to a favorite bar of my boyfriend and i for his birthday. this was the first time i asked for permission to vape (rather than for forgiveness in case it is not allowed), to avoid any complications since we were out with a few friends and i didn't want to be scolded by them (i am literally always the youngest of our group by a significant amount). unfortunately in that case, there was no public vaping success.
:(
which sucks because we go there often and rarely step outside for breaks. boo-urns.

If I'm not told "don't do that", I'm going to vape. If I am told, I'll ask if it's against the rules, and to see where they're posted. Haven't been told not to yet, but that's the plan.

And I've vaped... Just about everywhere I've been since switching to ecigs. Stores, restaurants, malls. Hell, my father, who is very rigidly anti-smoking (he'd make me go to the end of the driveway to smoke if I was visiting him and told me to grind the last of the burning tobacco from the filter so that I could throw the filter away in a trashcan, lol) said he was okay with me vaping in his house.
