Which is better? The GG or Prodigy?

Both are highly regarded devices that produce good throat hit and vapor. The Prodigy runs at 5 volts and the GG at 6 volts/3.7 volts. Another option is the AdapteveR. It currently runs 901 atomizers at 3.7 volts, but understand a 6 volt version and an option for 801 atomizers is not far away. To further make this mix coplex is the Silver Bullet which will be solkd through AltSmoke.

Search through the Puresmoker, GG and AdapteveR threads for more information.

I have tried 401's, Npro's and Ncig's, a few different pen style 801's, the Janty Stick, and the Prodigy. The Prodigy is hands down the best. I belive the reason is the higher voltage. I have never tried the GG but assume because of the higher voltage it is a comparable vape. The difference in button placement was the kicker for me to buy the Prodigy.

I have the GG that I use now and a Prodigy on order.

The GG is a great vape at 6v and I am looking forward to what the Prodigy will give me at 5v.

I also have an SD that I no longer use. 3.7v just doesn't do it for me any more after vaping with 6v.

cosican recently did a review with several of these big boys and essentially said the GG and Prodigy are great vaping machines. He didn't really distinguish if there was a vaping difference between 6v and 5v.

So I guess it boils down to the quality and durability of the build.

The GG is hand crafted with no wires and solder, so I know it will last my vaping lifetime.

The Prodigy is relatively newer on the market. I haven't got the Prodigy yet, but if I know Steve at Puresmoker - it will be quality and durable too.

What I especially like about both the GG and the Prodigy, other than the higher volt vaping, is the versatility of using the 901, 510, and 801 attys by simply attaching the right adapter to the unit. Steve just came out with the 510 adapter and also a 401 adapter for the Prodigy.

I LUV vaping with the 510 atty at higher volts - it absolutely rocks!!

Good luck in your decision - you definitely can't go wrong with higher volt vaping :)

The prodigy is still not available here, but I have the Iolite, GG Grant, Jantystick, Dura-C, and just sold my Kissbox and ScrewDriver.

The GG Transformer will be a real winner, from a singe device you will be able to use 3.7v, 5v, 6v, have a locking button to prevent accidental activation, will accept 901 aomizers and 510/801 with adapters, and an auto juice feeding system is coming in a few weeks.

I dont think the Prodigy is modular so you are stuck with what you buy. Correct me if I am wrong anybody.

Looks are very different, that will probably play a part in your choice. Here is my GG Grant

No you can put different adaptors for different atomisers on it. Currently 901, 801 and I think 510 types are available, with M401 type in the pipeline. Unless you remove the resistor in the switch you are effectively limited to 5v with 2 x CR123A batteries. A single large (18450??) battery will fit, but it probably won't be that good with the resistor in place, as it'll be running the atomiser at lower than standard voltage.

What is an auto juice feeding system? Sounds intriguing!

i also have not tried the GG, but my Prodigy blows away the other types i've tried, which have only been m401 and 901. well, and a normal USB passthru. i've recently tried using my old 901 standard ecig and there's no comparison for 3.7v after using 5v.

however, i've read many of the GG posts, and Imeo really seems very genuine and down to earth, and his passion about his device really shows. after all the posts and reviews, i don't think you would go wrong with a GG, and i can say personally you won't be disappointed with a Prodigy.

I watched that GG's Auto Feeding System video. Is that what you and he call *automatic*!? Looks more like a pain in the tuchis* to me.

* Yiddish-speaking members: Please feel free to correct my spelling.

MoonMan's IPAC (a *semi*-automatic delivery system) looks much more effective. It's not very pretty though and he is an amateur inventer, not an entrepreneur. I wish that someone like Steve at Puresmoker would pay royalties to MoonMan and transform the IPAC into a Prodigy V3 (I understand that he has something else in mind for the V2).

FYI: I don't own any of these devices yet. I intend to order the Prodigy when I can afford it (based on reviews I read ... and a slight buy-American bent).

I must recant part of a prior post I made about recommended devices. It appears the GG is a flawed device that can fire off an atomizer if the button and battery pack come in contact with metal like coins or a stainless steel table. I would not want anyone to have a dangerous device in their hands because I mentioned it. The support is iffy, too.

Some people like to perpetuate myths and distort the facts. They do so because basically they don't have a life other than to trash other people's lives and they get some sort of satisfaction in this.

All GGs are being recalled for a fix that will solve the firing problems. In addition to fixing the problem, the manufacturer is including a locking button feature. The cost for doing this is simply a shipping charge. The additional feature of a locking button so that it doesn't accidentally fire is being done as a free upgrade.

The customer support for the GG is and always has been excellent.

When a customer personally degrades, insults, and makes derogatory statements against a manufacturer should it be allowed simply because the person is a customer?

chef... if you've kept abreast of of the current developments regarding the GG (and I believe you have), you would know that the 'flaw' you refer to does NOT apply to the new units forthcoming (the Transformer) - which should be available Tuesday. Issues regarding current devices are being handled in a responsible manner.

As to support... that's subjective and I'm sure you'll find many that disagree with your assessment.

Suzi & mamu: I call them as I read them. Thank you helping me to be better informed. Regardless, it should be important that people know about a recall on GG devices and that new units, not currently available, may not have a similar problem.

Well, I call it as I see it too chef.

We didn't help you be better informed at all - since you are already aware. You've frequented the GG forum enough, have responded to posts there about the issue, and know exactly what is happening - yet you come here and distort the facts.

You tag Kendra when she personally insults Imeo with a flame of your own - so go figure what your agenda is my friend!

No problem, chef. It's important to keep people aware of the correct facts so they can become informed consumers and make their own decisions bases on accuracy, wouldn't you agree? :)
