Can't say 100% which side if the fence I'm on yet. I'm still very young at vaping, so I could change my views as time goes on. So far, I've been accustomed to going outside for a smoke wherever I was. Smoking indoors is banned in my state. You can't smoke in bars, clubs, casinos, restaurants, or anywhere. So it doesn't really bother me to go outside to vape. So far, I haven't vaped publicly indoors. The way I feel about it, it probably will offend someone, or freak them out thinking I'm smoking, so I just don't do it.
I supposed if I get the urge to vape publicly somewhere, like a restaurant, I will ask the server or an employee if it be ok. I'd explain to them what it was and make sure they don't have a policy against it. If another person nearby starts complaining, I'll stop immediately. I won't try to argue how safe it is, and how's it's not a cigarette. As far as I know, it hasn't been proven that there is no such thing as, or danger of "second hand" vapor. So I won't force my bad habits on anyone else's health and body.
I see a few people here on ECF, who think they have the right to vape publicly indoors, because there isn't any legal law that bans it. It's just a respect thing with me. I've had to step out for a smoke for many years, so it's not really a huge inconvenience for me. I do love the fact I can vape in my own home without stinking up the joint, and I'm sure my freinds and family appreciate they don't have to smell the cigarette smoke on my clothes anymore. But I don't think I have any right to vape publicly. It's a privilege, not a right. IMO
