At least I don't have to make a conscious effort to stay hydrated. Even before I started vaping, I've always kept a drink nearby.

This reminded me I have been meaning to make a post about this and us all day vapors really need the info and to stay hydrated so what better place than the all day vapors thread?
It's the same for me (that I've always got a drink nearby) but it was a 4 year long battle of getting first off Diet sodas then regular sodas not only because of cost (but when you drink a 12pk+ of sodas a day cost is a big issue:shock:) but also b/c my conditions didn't like the artifical sweetners or the HFCS...then what?
I'm also a bubble junkie  and didn't couldn't find a suitable drink replacement without adding money back. Then the heavens parted and I found this Soda Makers You can buy "flavors" for it (sound familiar?) but I find I like just the bubbly water (sheltzer water) and I've been a gallon or more a day drinker for over two years now. I wanted to mention it because I've found the bubbly water to be a great palate cleanser when I'm vaping and things get to tasting a little off. I have never had the dehydration problems cause I'm far from dehydrated to begin with. You can find the machines at most Khol's but the best place to get them is at Bed Bath & Beyond b/c they have the carbonators there so you don't have to pay the online shipping charges. NOW to find someone handy enough to figure out a way to get around their dang carbon bottles so I can get them filled for $2 instead of the $15 trade in's cost. Either way it cut our drinking costs down to next to nothing compared to the cost of 12pks X 7 days plus what it cost if I let the hubs and kid have anything to drink:laugh:

Ok sorry for the interruption folks just trying to help as much as I've been helped! I don't know much about vaping yet but I know my seltzer water stuff. Feel free to PM me if you have questions cause I'm the soda water queen...hmmm I've been getting a bunch of queenly titles lately ;)

I started smoking when I was 8 in 1968. My Grandpa gave them to me. This was before the dangers of smoking was well known. I quit 2 yrs ago and I was smoking 4 to 5 packs a day when my 13 year old step-daughter had to have a heart transplant. I saw the Smoke Assist ads on TV and went nuts . I missed smoking. My wife almost left me when the kit came in. I have since switched to the E9's and vape constantly. I'm using 6 ml liquid. My wife is now insisting that I switch to the 0 ml and she says she'll join me.

I vape all day, and pretty much all the time while I'm awake, but...
I also feel less dependent now than I was when smoking cigarettes.
On ocasions were vaping is not "desirable" I find that I can handle not vaping for a long time without any kind of stress, while when I smoked, after 30 minutes I would start to get ready to climb walls to light an analog.
The way nic is absorbed by the body and it's effect over time seem much different.
No "nic rush". The effect seems more spread over time.

this post....is amazing from many aspects.
first of all, to smart smoking when your 8? im trying to imagine my grampa handing over a pack when i was 8, saying hey punk...give these a try, you might like'um.
seconds, 4-5 packs a day? i smoked 2 packs a day and i cant imagine what it would have been like to smoke at least twice that?
thirdly, i hope your wife wasnt going to leave you when the kit came in because you loved the kit more than her? :))

i had a good feeling after reading your post and its so awesome that you were able to kick the smoking habit.
good luck and hope your step daughter is doing good.

My Grandpa was a chain smoker. He used 1 match a day as soon as he awoke. He smoked almost 6 packs a day and smoked Winston 100's to the filters. Anyhow I was watching him one day and asked him for one. He laughed and got one for me and said I had to smoke it all. Heck, I smoked it like a pro and he said it was Ok since I was "man enough." I wish he had kicked .... up between my shoulders now. :)

My wife was afraid it would get me back on the traditionals, but I have no desire to smell like an ashtray again. My step-daughter is doing great. She is living a normal life now. She was born a heart block.

Times sure have changed. Helluva story though.

I vape pretty much all day at the moment. (I'm in a work from home period, and pretty much on the computer from sunup to bed-time.) Got a pass through, got a drip tip, never seem to stop.

When I started vaping, though, I was teaching at a local university- vaped one cart in the morning (two cig breaks) and one at lunch. Only chain vaped in the evenings...

I had some of the same thoughts when I read this! It's amazing what PV's are doing for people. zzdiesel is a testament to how well PV's can work and change lives!

And I totally see how it happened that zzdiesel's grandfather got him started...things were a whole lot different then...and I'm a 70's baby so not THAT long ago...right?

For example...I grew up with EVERYONE in my family being chain smokers...of all sorts. At the age of 5 my mother handed me...a "special" cigarette 8-o on a trip to the library. I can only imagine the number of contact buzzes I've had in my life. :vapor:
Thankfully:confused: I managed to not really start smoking until I was 18. I only started then because I was the "biggest" girl in my college dorm. Had a girl convince me it helped her loose weight and I was hooked from that moment on! Nope didn't loose any weight at all...but it looks like PV's are helping cause I'm vaping yummy tasting stuff instead of eating that midnight bowl (or two) of cereal. I've lost 10lbs in the 5wks I've been smoke free and I really hope that trend continues!

at work my hands are usually busy. I used to spend my whole lunch break and every other break smoking. Now I'm vaping thru those and other times during the day too. Boss doesn't mind, so I'm happy at that. I'd vape more, but my lips aren't strong enough to dangle a 510, LOL

On weekends I out-run my battery charger. I have 4 batts for my 510, two always charging. Two others loaded, one with 18 and one with no-nic. I love the flavors, so the nicotene level doesn't matter to me.

I was watching Jonah Hex the other day, and kept thinking....you know, if he was a vaper, that hole in his face would sure come in handy.... he'd need auto-batteries though. :p

I was seeing lots of people saying they vape about 1-3ml a day... if one fill of my carto is 1ml... ummm.... yeah... I'm vaping way more than that...

Those people are probably dripping or have a feeder. Cartos and carts waste a lot more juice than dripping. I vape all day with IMR batteries and Cisco 306 1.5 LR's and I only go through 2-3 ml a day.

Me too! I vape all day and think that I may actually stay up later at night to vape more LOL. I will be cutting down my nicotine levels over the next few months. I hope to be at 6mg or 0 by the new year.

I've only been vaping for a little over 3 weeks now, but it's improved my life in so many ways I didn't even predict. Like when I exercise I'm not sucking wind after 5 minutes on the treadmill. This has led me to being more enthusiastic about working out, which has led me to losing 8 lbs since I started vaping 3 weeks ago. It's amazing.

Congrats on the rapid progress on so many levels. Soon that muffin top will be a distant memory. :D

Yes, all day. Carry around my e-cig like it's my favorite blanket or something!

Converted my ex-wife to vaping too, she does the same thing, always holding it. It was funny, she had an analog after 2 weeks of vaping (her stupid boyfriend broke her equipment.....), and she was frustrated about having it go out (aside from being disgusted by the taste) since she got used to not taking a drag every 20 seconds.

I used to vape all day (when I first got my ecig a few months back). I'm kind of cutting down though just vaping after meals or whenever I feel like it (like right now lol).. but it's convenient that I can do it anywhere instead of having to go outside and smoking and smoking an analog. And FYI.. I smoked a cig a few days ago (batt went out on my ecig, haven't bought a charger yet) and OMG it was nasty. I must have taken 2 or 3 hits and was like ok.. forget this. It's gross lol. Idk how I chain smoked those things for years.

I started off with 24 but now I'm at 18. I'm thinking of cutting it down though.
