I quit for a month or two the first time I tried an electronic but that was 3 years or more ago. I had to wait until technology caught up with my habit.I struggled with it even for awhile with the Ego tank system which was cutting edge at the time and didnt truly quit until I found the joys of regulated voltage with a Provari. Then I quit for 6 months, was down to 0 nic juice and sold all my vaping gear only to start smoking again

8 months later Im back here with a little over a month under belt. I know you wanted people to post here that quit the first time but I wanted you to see that doesnt always happen. The important thing is that EVERY cigarette you dont have is a small victory and that if you keep trying, even with setbacks that youre making progress.

Good luck with quitting and if you do happen to have a slip up now and then we'll all still be here cheering you on.

I did although it was difficult. I started with a cigalike, and almost went back to the stinkies. I then found this forum and by suggestions, went to a Twist and Mini Vivi nova tank, also found some good ejuice. It got much easier after that. I've been smoke free for 2 months now.

I'm just wondering how many of you all quit analogs once they got their first e cig/pv? I've tried my friends' ecigs and am getting my first one in the mail tomorrow. Hoping I can get off analogs right away, maybe input could give me motivation for that? Plus I'm simply curious.

Two years ago I bought a crappy prosmoke for the novelty of it but also with the intention of quitting. It was a horrible device like nothing we have now a days. I continued smoking.

Then over two months ago I bought a disposable once again for fun without the intention of quiting. I didn't want a cigarette the moment I touched it. I quit by accident. I then became obsessed with getting a quality PV and spent every second on the internet reading and watching videos. I bought a starter kit, loved it but knew there was much more vaping had to offer. Then went to a twist and a vivi nova which I'm using right now. I am buying a Provari mini in less than a month. I love and enjoy vaping more than I ever loved smoking and I haven't had the urge to inhale smoking tar in exactly 70 days.

Happy vaping. Stick with it. We can't all possibly be crazy. There is a reason we are vapers! ;)

Im new to the change.....but not expecting miracles, im still trying to find the right vape device, and flavour, with some sort of nic level....I do think that vaping with no nicotine for me is not the anser, i need some low dose of the nic...or i will feel the need to have a few puffs on a regular smoke. I can tell you ive only smoked a half dozen smokes in three weeks....to me thats huge, and I feel better. I love the act of smoking as do most seasoned vapers, so its important to find right device and flavour.......

Best bit of advice I can give is dont give up, that is if you dont end up with a set up that you like right off the bat. It took me almost 6 months to find the set up I dig(and Im still dialing it in 6 more months later).

I agree and you should be willing to spend some money at the beginning to find the set up and juice that is right for you. The faster you do this the easier everything will be.

I smoked a pack a day for 20 years and quit smoking the day my ego c arrived using 16-18mg juice. As someone else mentioned, I also quickly moved up to a twist+vivi nova set up. I also have had to spend a lot of time looking for the right juices.

You should look forward to this. Vaping is just a better/cleaner way of smoking.

I'm a 1 1/2 pack a day and it took me about 2 weeks to be completely cig-free, but in that 2 weeks I cut down from 1 1/2 pack to 3-4 cigs a day, and that's quite a lot so i'm happy with that. Lots of vaper stopped their cig since the first drag, you can read in forum to motivate and encourage you.

When we went to the local store to buy our kits we had 3 anologs left a piece, we smoked one before we got out of the car, and when we left the store we started smoking the e-cigs we got. At first they made us cough and feel woozy kinda like the first cigarette i ever smoked lol. The 2nd cigarette we smoked on the car ride back home a (45 min trip) we made sure we were "broke" for the next two weeks as we didn't get paid again until then, and thus couldn't buy anologs. After we ate dinner that night we had our last anologs. My husband (a 15 year pack and a half smoker) was a total jerk for a week/week and ahalf (so apparently their is a chemical in anologs other than nicotine that makes you a duchebag when quitting) it wasn't that bad for me (a 10 cigarettes a day smoker). But we have never had an anolog since that day. :)

oh yeah that was about 6-8 months ago! lol

Yes, there is a duchebag chemical, I too had a bad reaction to it.
