Who quit smoking as soon as they picked up a pv?

Yes, there is a duchebag chemical, I too had a bad reaction to it.

LoL the people at his work (he's a walgreens manager) at first were begging me to let him smoke and i told them if he goes back to smoking i swear your lives will be worse as you will have to deal with me! lol, but he eventually calmed down. I will admit when you smell a cigarette (on the right person, as most stink but some dont) that feeling to take a drag of a real cigarette is still there sometimes, but with a wee bit of self control and if your angst gets too bad have a small back up bottle of 24mg nicotine you'll be fine. I will say that neither of us smoked menthol cigarettes before we quit and went to vape, but now we do and since we found the Newport flavor juice all has been right with the world :) (we are STILL working out a great setup as well, though it would be the twist and the CE4 clearomizers, but planning to try the vivi novas as they seem to be all the rave! hoping that will do the trick!)

I'm just wondering how many of you all quit analogs once they got their first e cig/pv? I've tried my friends' ecigs and am getting my first one in the mail tomorrow. Hoping I can get off analogs right away, maybe input could give me motivation for that? Plus I'm simply curious.

Welcome xthestrukonex!! I consider myself one of the lucky ones...the day I got my first kit in the mail was the last day I ever smoked a cigarette. THAT DAY I threw away my cigarette case and 3 days later 2 full packs of cigarettes went in the trash. I knew that day I would never go back. You can see in my sig below how long its been. YOU CAN DO THIS! I wish you the best of luck! :)

Both my hubby and I both quit right when we started with e-cigs and we did it with Blu. We both had different detox symptoms. He had terrible, terrible, smelly, horrible gas for about 4 days. I had a dry throat because I wasn't drinking enough water and got a lot of abdominal gas which I attributed to swallowing too much air from Vaping wrong (like you can get from using a straw).

The point that zapped brought up is very important for you to remember you may want to quit right away but like zapped said - that doesn't always happen.

My husband and I have set 48 people up with kits and each one could tell you a different story about how they quit. One convert used Blu for about 2 1/2 months and then quit smoking and Vaping. Another convert smoked 1-3 cigs a day for over a year while Vaping but recently he got a LavaTube from us and has found his sweet spot at 5 volts and has been smoke free for, I guess it would be 1 1/2 months now. Another didn't try until he saw it had been a year smoke free for us. The first couple days he smoked too, then went to just Vaping. He left his gear at home one day and bought a pack of smokes, he smoked about 1/2 a cig and was disgusted. He tossed the rest of the pack. He has been smoke free for 7 months now.

Everyone's experience is different. The important thing is that you keep trying until you find the right e-liquid, the right nicotine mg and the right e-cig and voltage.

Welcome to ECF xthestrukonex! You can do this!!

I was lucky, I didn't have the craving even with my dad smoking in the same vehicle as me. The e-cig just satiated me, but I do NOT like the ashtray smell. Funny how that smell was totally different when I smoked.

I quit, but I wanted to quit. So I was motivated. Picked up an expensive KGO at a retail shop for $85. Then learned enough to realize that would never last. I milked it along until I could get better stuff in the mail through ECF vendors. Without this I just could not deal with the commute to work and home, now I don't even think about the analogs.

I think the key here is not to stop smoking cold turkey, i wasnt able to do it i went from a pack and a half a day to 2-3 analogs a day on day 1 its been a month and i can now go 1 week without a single analog and ill be fine, i get the occasional craving but i just pick up my twist and get on ecf and check out new products for a bit and im all good i would suggest u just massively cut down on analogs at first.

one important thing to mention is when i smoke analogs now, they taste horrible and i mean horrible terrible horrible.

if u feel comfortable quitting cold turkey on day one more power to you but keep in mind the cravings may cause more trouble than smoking a few analogs untill ur basically down to 0.

Good luck!
and welcome!

I did not but I had an inkling that I could.

I wholeheartedly agree with Zapped that each and every cigarette not smoked is a victory. At first I thought I would not try to kick cigs altogether. I would try and replace the odd cigarette with a vape here and there. So instead of smoking in the morning while walking the dog, I'd vape. At night no more last cigarette but a vape. After a week I noticed that I had saved myself 1 pack a week. Next thing you know it was 2 packs and then 3. Honestly switching to vaping was one of the best decisions of my life right up there with

-Asking the woman who is now my wife to marry me.
-Not betting on the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
-Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early teenage years.

Basically don't worry if in regards to vaping you are not "all in". It will happen and I think it will happen perhaps more quickly than you think. Good luck and happy vaping. I think I'll kick back enjoy some tasty 555 and watch "Hand of Fear", it is the last episode with Sarah Jane Smith as the Doctor's companion. Breaks my heart every time.

P.S when I wrote "Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early teenage years." I meant "Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early lonely teenage years.".

Honestly I went to a vape shop with my wife. She wanted to quit and I absolutely did not. I loved smoking and was very skeptical of the whole thing. After some taste testing and a lot of talking with the shop owner I some how decided to buy a starter kit with my wife. Honest to God I haven't smoked a cigarette since. That was 97 days ago, I was a skeptic but I tell ya it was so easy. Since then I've sent 3 co-workers there and they have been smoke free since.

Best of luck to you, these are an ex smokers dream.

I did. I was actually surprised at how I didn't feel that anxious feeling that I get when I need a smoke. The ecigs totally worked for me.

What gardnerd said. When my first kit arrived, I stopped smoking and I couldn't believe how easy it was. I smoked for 40 years and haven't had a cig in a year.

I was lucky. When I got my first Ego knockoff and generic coffee 12mg liquid from a girl at work I had about a pack of cigarettes left. I took it home and charged it up. I finished the pack I had because I am cheap and didn't want to throw them away. I simply refused to buy any more. On July 11, 2012 I had exactly one cigarette...and have never, and will never have another.

In my honest opinion, you absolutely have to want to quit. The reason is different for everyone, and mine was really the smell and the nasty-assed taste of your mouth at the end of the day. At 44 and having smoked off and on since my teens...I was really just absolutely sick of smoking.

Oh yea, I absolutely love vaping! Since my knockoff Ego, I went through a lavatube for about 2 months until it broke completely and am now on a ZMax with Vivi Nova tank.

Good luck and happy vaping!

The very first ecig I had was one of those cheap disposable ones they sell at convenient stores and that really didn't work at all. I congratulate anyone who was able to quit smoking as soon as they got a pv, because it wasn't that easy for me. Struggles are a part of success, so are slip ups. It's been a number of months and I'm still not 100% off.. I catch myself with a cig every now and then when out with friends and we're having drinks. Since my friends generally smoke cigarettes only.

Started with a look-a-like and some 36mg juice. I didn't really expect it to work, but didn't want to hear it from the vapors I know that I didn't try a strong enough fluid...Never looked back! I have come down quite a bit on the strength, though. And also using a bit more efficient setup!

I quit smoking first. I had planned it, knew in advance that I was going to stop smoking when my bag of tobacco ran out. (I was a RYO smoker to cut price in a state that has 3000% tobacco tax) Anyway, I had been a half pack/day smoker for 25 years and had quit smoking in my 20's for 8 months then picked back up again for the next 15 years.

This time...

On the 11th day without a cigarette (my 39th birthday) I was so on edge [violently angry with everything and everyone around me] that I went to The big "W" store and bought a Mistic E-Cig kit to keep me from killing people. That did it for me! And actually, I'm still running those same batteries, but with refillable clearos. I researched everything from juice to carts to cartos to other battery types, and ONLY due to budget (I was only spending $30/month smoking RYO) I have stayed with the Mistic batts because, honestly, they work for me. I bought some ejuice off Amazon and have ordered a few small bottles of interesting flavors from different companies to experiment...next month I will begin making and altering juice for myself.

I even painted and decorated my equipment 101_0003 smaller.jpg(today, in fact) to match my personality. I'm not a "Keeping up with the Joneses" kind of person...I don't need the next cool thing...I just need it to work and fulfill my personal expectations. My system does that for me.

I am 65 day stinky-free. I can climb three flights of stairs without getting winded, I don't snore anymore, and I Don't Stink!

Best of luck...it is TOTALLY doable...just keep on keepin on!!

Had a similar experience on both front (minus so many converts; serous kudos on that!).

Bought a disposable for kicks; I would be lying if I said it was a good vape even before I knew what was up. Never the less I also knew I could quit after killing that disposable in less then a day.

Although I work in an industrial/manufacturing complex, we are a stones throw away from a smoke shop that sell loosies (single cigs), EVIL... I had my last cig prob a month after I got my first set up.

I only smoked if something went south with my gear (and I kinda hated myself for it).

After I stopped buying packs (a former pack a day for 12+ years) I did notice the graciousness that MrsCasey speaks of, just sayin, but after ah weeks or so my chick (non smoker) was giving me high-fives and stage dives cuz well apparently the toxins had left the building, and I was making "progress". Now don't get me wrong, vaping never occurred to her, but I think she was happy that my farts weren't so Gnar. (Been together for a minute.)

Hydrate your self especially if your new to vaping. I will say that if you drink a considerable amount and vape while your at it; God that can make for one hell of a hangover. Trust me.

At first it is kinda rough; you prob wont have gear that your proud of or wont know how to explain it to people but but to be honest now when I see someone smoking I think two thing:

Smells like hell..

& P----, aka weak; no clouds, no flavor and no throat hit.

I was able to quit smoking on the first try. I had about 5 analog cigs left when I got my kit in the mail and I wound up throwing those away. I'm a gamer and I used to have go outside and smoke to keep my place smelling nice and that was annoying to everyone to have to take a break to feed my addiction. Now it's cold outside and I don't have to deal with that either. My lungs feel so much better now (2 months later) and the flavor is far better and has a much wider variety than smoking an analog. :)
