I have been saying for almost a year, imagine if we could collect all of these success stories, forum wide, and submit actual data to the FDA. The amount and success rates could not be ignored, and if it was the NY Times would be next.
Sorry for the derailment, it's just the more of these I read the more I feel as if we are wasting a huge resource in our battle for acceptance.

Now back to our original programming.

I was able to make the switch immediately, ultimately it depends on you, whether or not you have the will power to do it, the first two days I say are the roughest, because you miss the burning feeling in your chest when you wake up, e-cigs give you none of that. I have been smoke-free for two months and have not touch a cigarette since.

For me, I had quit dipping couple years before and used the gum etc. to stay away from that and broke down and started smoking, I was smoking two packs a day for about 11 months when I got my first VP, home made flashlight PV with 18500 batteries. I didn't quit instantly but within a couple of days cigerattes tasted NASTY and horrible. Within a week and a half or so, I couldn't even smoke couple puffs off of a cig. So for me, vaping made me hate cigs so much I couldn't smoke. Now, about 8 months later I am doing fine, but certainly still need my vape. I've thought about cutting my nic level to 5 mg per ml, but only cheap way of doing that is getting 0mg and 11mg and mixing them 50/50. I don't mix my own e-juice, I buy from madvapes or hoosiers china e-liquid, my favorite is desert ship, I don't have any interest in sweet flavored juice. But that is me.

I agree with the first couple of days being the roughest. But with a lot of will power and a set-up that is right for you, it's easy.

Earlier in this thread I posted that I wasn't completely off the smokes with my cigalike kit. But since I got my Vea kit on Nov.27 I've been 100% vaping when I have a craving. There were times during the first week where I would have REALLY strong cravings but I would just vape until they were gone. Things seem too me mellowing out more over the past few days now.
I believe with the right attitude and the right gear, making the switch is that much easier. :headbang:

I found ECF and started vaping in 2009. At the time I was smoking a pack per day. I vaped while still smoking a 2-3 cigs per day for almost a year and then got tired of messing with vaping. The older style 510's with the filler that had to be replaced and tasted funky sometimes and was not as satisfying just got to be too much. I went back to smoking, but had cut way back to about 10 cigs per day.

Now, I'm back on ECF and back to vaping. I love the improvements in equipment that have come about since 2010. I got a vv starter kit and love it. I decided to try to go to vaping exclusively and have been 1 1/2 days without a cig....so I'm thrilled with my progress. So far I'm doing okay without cigs and hope to continue. I'm not quite ready to throw out the last pack I have at the house, but hope to be ready in a few weeks. Finding the right set up and the right e-liquid(s) make a big difference in not missing cigs.

I think everyone is different. For some folks it is easy to immediately transition to vaping, for others it is more difficult. Don't be too hard on yourself if you can't give up cigs immediately, just stick with vaping and the time will come when you no longer want a cig.

I started vaping in March 2011 and had 2 cigs when my PV went dead at work last summer. I quit because I was tired of the dirt. Washing down yellow walls, yellow curtains, crusted film on windows, burn marks on the carpet, dropped ashes. Even the dog smelled like an ashtray. Started vaping and haven't had to wipe down a wall since, lol!

A lot of people try to tell you that vaping doesn't help you quit, but it really does. You just have to convince yourself that it will work because it's very similar to smoking. If you keep telling yourself it won't help you quit, then you will be determined to see that result.

I can't imagine who would say it doesn't help to quit. Unless they are out of this circle, or represent BP. I dont think anybody here would say that.

I kept a pack of Newports in the glove compartment of my car. For the first month, I smoked whenever I wanted. But I didn't want to all that much. They tasted awful compared to ecigs. I would smoke one or two here and there. It was important to me to not have cigarettes be forbidden, because I knew I would want them more.

After a month of vaping, I threw the pack away. Then I bought another pack a week later. After two months I had only smoked three cigarettes out of the pack. I threw that pack away too.

It is now 13 months since I started vaping. I bummed one cigarette three or four months ago. That was my last time smoking a cigarette. If I want to smoke, I will. I just don't want to.

A friend gave me an ecig that I hated. It looked like a cigarette but it had no flavor and was way too much nicotine even though it had "light" cartridges in it. I felt all cracked out after a few puffs. Another friend had an eGo twist with a tank and highly recommended it. I got the same battery but different tank plus a few different juices and I'm happy to say that I haven't bought any cigarettes since I got it! I did finish the last of the pack though... it is definitely getting easier.

My husband introduced me into the e-cig world and we started by purchasing the Greensmoke Brand, I wasn't satisfied with the brand we choose, so I started doing my research here, and thanks to all of the awesome people and information, I learned the basics. Then, I found a local brick and mortar Vape Shop, I went in, got more education, and got set up for far less. Since switching from the Greensmokes to my new set-up, I haven't felt the need to go back to analogs at all!!! Three weeks and counting for this very happy noobie! Best of luck to you.

I quit, for 2.5 months when I first started vaping seriously. But my wife always had her cigs around, so the inevitable happened, I smoked one, then two then bought my menthols again. Now another 8 months later, having vaped on occasion while mostly smoking again, I am all geared up and again motivated to quit the stinkies, hopefully for good this time. Wife is on board as well so, fingers crossed, and Provari cartos and tank loaded with new set of juices on their way!

Wish me luck!

When I tried quitting with Blu (before I knew about the big world of real PVs) it never satisfied me fully. So I quit the Blu and back to analogs. My friend got a "Mistic" so I got one and tried it... better battery life than Blu but still I wasn't sold on it. Back to analogs.

Fast forward to Sept 30, 2012 I quit cold turkey for about a month, then smoked a Black & Mild Wine. I was just sick of it so I started researching vapes again and found a brick and mortar store about an hour away. Went there and they sold me a Joye eGo C Upgrade kit with the Vision "Stardust" clearomizer. It was way better than any cigalike I've tried. I thought hey there is something here that's actually satisfying and battery life is great.

So that's basically where I'm at right now. I got a Vision Spinner last week, it's ok. I'm in the buying and trying phase of vaping right now. Trying to find a good juice. I have some Rawr juices coming in this week. I'm tired of the inconsistency of my local shops juice. Sometimes great, but other times complete JUNK. I got some sort of tank/carto kit from Mad Vapes and it absolutely sucks. IDK. Need to try a better tank/carto setup because that idea really interests me but this setup I have now is for the birds... maybe it's the .... juice my local shop sent me, IDK even know how to describe it. My last batch was great but then this is trash.

Going to try and order some Ahlusion tomorrow or sometime this week. And then get a Silver Bullet or some sort of mod soon just to try it out.

I will say vaping is EXTREMELY confusing starting out, at least for me. I've never been so lost in all the sizing/connections/lingo before but I'm starting to get it.

With that said I am analog free and don't really even think about them, unless I'm drinking, but I still haven't given in. feelsgoodman

2 pack a day smoker here. Heard about e-cigs about 7 weeks ago and it took me about a week to get juice and set up. I haven't touched ONE analog cigarette since I started vaping. It's awesome and way cheaper. I am currently using eGO C twists with 2mg daily of 16mg ejuice.

Started out with a eGo type of setup. I have not smoked a cigarette since the kit was delivered and the battery charged. 6 months quit for me after 30+ years of smoking.

All it all, it was relatively painless to quit. I never had the guts to try until I heard about eCigs and then started vaping.
