Who uses xc-116 ceramic wick?

I finally modified my ceramic and can use xc116 in my ODY without unbraiding it so I'm a happy camper. I just love this stuff! Now I need to buy a kiln

Once added benefit I noticed is no more flooding after filling my ODY with nextel in it. I've filled it three times since last night and not a drop or a gurgle.

Maybe someone else does too, but I have access to a kiln, but I only have about 18" of xc116 atm, so it hardly seems worth the effort.

I haven't found anything that compares to 116...love the stuff. Tip of the Hat to JonahNM for locating it.

The docment states for small quantities to keep at temp of 400c for 12 hours. This is why he wants a kiln

I was so anxious to start using my ODY again after about an hour and a half (including the cleaning and making the coil) that I completely forgot to take a pic. I will do it for sure next time I make the coil. But I have to warn you that it's not as pretty as Para's

Hey fx, I was just kidding about buying the kiln for this. I'm using a torch to pre-treat the xc-116.

And don't worry, your english is just fine. It certainly seems much better than my Korean

XC-116 can not be shipped outside the USA.

Maybe wrapping a small piece of SS mesh around the wick would help catch the flakes instead of inhaling them?

All right, I was just going to make a new coil and decided to take some pics of my modified ceramic for xc-116 wick.

For those of you who modified yours (Para, Rick...)... The wick seems to fit in easily but I wonder if I should widen the channels a little more. Thoughts?

Looks nice. I'm going to try it as soon as I get my new ceramics. I broke the corner off of 1 of mine and I don't want to risk tampering with either and risk having to wait to use it.

Yea I know what you mean... I just decided to risk it and go for gold. But a victory shower was necessary afterwards due to high levels of perspiration during the modifying process. Lets just say I was a little nervous
