It is hard to do Isaac Asimov justice with movies, the movie people lack imagination of his calibarer. I actually did not enjoy I Robot book as much as all the others for some reason, I could never understand why either.

I could never understand why they made movie of that book. There are better books by him to make a movie about. Probably the only one they could understand.

read the book! you won't be disappointed!
I almost picked up the new hrd cover GN back in Oct., but there were a lot of users who read it when they were younger but said it didn't hold up over the years, so I passed

I read it in like 92, do you think it still holds up now?

I used to like Kevin Smith movies, Clerks is still ok but I saw Chasing Amy last year and I couldn't understand why I used to like it, there are many things from your youth that you have fond memories of but I find most times when you revisit those memories you're not only dissapointed but your original feelings become tainted.

Another example is Battle of the planets (my all time favorite cartoon when I was a kid) when the box set was released I bought it,
I would have been better off with my memories alone

it still definitely holds up now. and don't worry, kevin smith just plain sucks - both then and now.

Just saw it... never read the book. Movie was great! Great action, decent graphics, super hot sex scene (I got a little wet watching her kick ... and then get naked... I must admit!). Over all I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. I think I may have enjoyed it more because before it came out I heard it was awful so I was not expecting much :)

a movie adaptation i am eagerly awaiting is 'battle angel' to be directed by james cameron, scheduled for a 2011 release.

I'd like to see, Akira, Ninja Scroll, and fist of the north star done for live action

(The F.O.T.N.S. with Chris Penn doesn't count)

Takashi Miike or Park Chan-wook would make a cool version of Akira, but they would need American backing to do the FX proper

(I was gonna say something about getting hard at the thought of an Akira movie to go with spikey's comment, but after I typed it, it just sounded pervy and icky, it's a double standard I tell ya)

I enjoyed it too. Though they changed a few things from the book. Of course they had to leave a lot of stuff out but they took out the aliens that were in the book.

Spikey you should read the book if you get a chance!

Hopefully I won't be teaching this summer and I can have some time to read books at the beach instead of grading papers! lol :)

I can see how that might sound "pervy"... but you can just say that it was so "hot" and it is pretty much understood that you were "hard" lol :)

(should this thread have a PG13 rating? lol )
