If there are laws banning posession of tobacco by minors they are almost never enforced anywhere and never have been as far as I can tell. How does this tougher restriction accomplish anything if enforcement is the same as in the past? If posession of ecigs by minors is banned that will be enforced because cigarettes pay taxes and ecigs so not. Police and the courts are tax supported. At best the new age limit creates more criminals to arrest. But are the new rules only related to sale?

Interesting take on what California is trying to do with upping the age for smokers

Why a 'smoking age' of 21 is a bad idea

California tramples on smokers' rights

California tramples on smokers' rights
Both of these irritate me, because they meekly stay within the anti-smoker-defined limits of never questioning the government's systematic crimes of committing scientific fraud to falsely blame smoking for diseases caused by infection. For the government to commit fraud to deprive us of our liberties is automatically a violation of our Constitutional rights to the equal protection of the laws, just as much as if it purposely threw innocent people in prison. And for the government to spread lies about phony smoking dangers is terrorism, no different from calling in phony bomb threats. This is the proverbial 'elephant in the room' that these pseudo-discussions never mention.

Come on can we be surprised that Cali is wanting that law. I mean heck they say everything in California causes cancer but only in the state of California. Went to visit family not to long ago. And the signs and post stating "this has been to shown to cause cancer in California" are on dang near everything lol.i was just born there but don't claim it as home lol.

According to an article in the LA Times, by Patrick McGreevy and Melanie Mason, "...Some veterans groups also objected, leading Assemblyman Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) to amend the bill to exempt those under 21 who are in active military service." So, I guess you would need a military ID or something to buy a pack of smokes or your favorite vape. Right now, to buy Vape products on the internet, it works out well because you have to be eighteen to have a credit card. therefore the customer is at least eighteen. How is this going to work? I guess the next step is ban all online sales?
The irony for me is I started selling e-liquid in 2013 with the hopes of helping smokers like myself quit for good and be able to have a vice that is much much safer. Now i am being undermined by the gov't by being lumped together with big tobacco. How did that happen? I thought as long as science was on our side we were actually going to change the world.

I'll be celebrating my 60th shortly. I'm not too sure I'm an adult.
My wife is sure I'm not.
My wife insists that I'm an adult no matter how much I try to show her that I am not.
And that's why she won't buy me the toys I want for Christmas!
