Well sure... I've got AW IMR 700mah's. I had made statements that I figured they'd last as long as my 650 twists, but everyone said no due to the Vamo having more electronics... But these are lasting me longer than the twists did...

Your average eGo battery is quite possibly from the bottom bin of the lowest quality batteries obtainable by man. Read: High internal resistance. AW batteries are regarded as decent to high quality batteries, and most likely have lots less internal resistance. Less amperage wasted to heat generation.

Internal resistance is also most likely the reason why people think new batteries "wake up" after a handful of cycles. Normally, with lithium batteries, the internal resistance will lower somewhat during the first few charge cycles, giving somewhat more oomph due to less ohm. Something something formation-something.

... or so rumor has it.

Great info, thanks!
I'm thinking there is something to the rumor, it seems already that they are lasting me a bit longer each day. Maybe it's just wishful thinking and usage fluctuations, but I'm a believer lol!

Guesses:

1) The SLR type people (who are attempting to power thick coil wire and not blow themselves up at the same time) are not very fond of the 18350's due to their amp needs and the high power they need.
2) People used to stack 18350's and that can lead to....problems...if not done well.

so

A) Use good quality batteries
B) don't over-amp them. High drain are probably required for booster mods too. And for mech mods (IMR type batteries).

All 18350's are not created equal. Some are low quality. Some may not be IMR.

Protected batteries are OK (even when stacked) in some situations. I use protected stacked 14500's all the time in a VV box mod. Meh.

So it depends on the battery quality, the mod, the use........

Might also have something to do with ... well... size. And not as in capacity by itself.

Battery size not only dictate capacity, but also discharge ratings. A batteries capacity is ... duh... rated in milli-amp hours. Take a 2100mah battery. Should be 1 hour worth of delivering 2100mA, or 2.1A. This rate is called 1"C". Pulling twice this, 4.2A would be 2C. Etc.

For a 700mah cell to deliver 2.1A, it would be pulling 3C. Working harder to deliver the same amps. Wasting more energy to heating up the battery and not your coil. 3C should be no problem, but when we're talking 15-20w+ vaping on low-res setups, this theory becomes practice quite quickly. Where a 2100cell discharge at, say 10C, the 700cell would be at 30C to deliver the same amperage. Not recommended with random no-name batteries of questionable origin and chemistry.

I am surprised you think there is a lot of hate for the 18350; actually it seems to me that I heard so many good things about them that I too invested. I know that not everyone prefers 18350's but neither do you get a consensus on any device or accessory in this forum - it doesn't mean those that don't see it as a primary tool 'hates' it.

Yep. That's what I said right above it. Higher power needs from SLR people and boosters. But it depends on the draw.

When I began researching mods I made many comments, on ECF and elsewhere, that I thought the 18350 would last as long as my 650mah spinner and be the batt for me. EVERYONE said "oh no, don't be silly, an 18350 will only last a couple of hours, you'll need to carry at least 2 back-ups with you to get a full day". Well I'm rockin my brand new Vamo V2.5 at with a ProTank at 4 volts, and have been since 6am today. I still have a 3.6v charge left. Am I glad that I did buy 2 18650's too? Sure, they will come in handy for camping and outings. But for day to day, I'm thinking these 18350's are a winner! One thing I am wondering though, people have told me that new batteries take time to "break in" and will hold a charge a bit longer after they do. Can anyone verify that?
PS, LOVING THESE 18350's lol

Thats awesome cause i ordered my provari mini with the 18350,s and im glad to know they will fit the bill. Vape On

the stealthiest pv i own is a 18500. >.> i found that size is my ideal balance between concealability/functionality. these days though i only use 18650's. for the convenience the battery size offers i don't even mind. my evic and p+ still fit in my sweater pocket, which is good enough for me.
i think about my experience with 650mah batteries early in my vaping adventure, and i'm not really interested on relying on it. it's frustrating to switch batteries/pvs in some situations.

I use AW 18350 700mah batteries in my provari mini. It's my primary device. I use it all day. I use it with a carto tank with a 3.0 ohm single coil cartomizer. I change my battery once a day. But battery life will always depend on how much you use your device. I've been on these forums for awhile now, and some people can't set their PV down for more than 5 minutes. If you're that kind of vaper, I could see going through multiple 18350's a day. I've even read about people killing three 18650's a day. Personally, I tend to vape a lot more when I'm at home and not doing anything, but when I'm at work, I can go an hour or two between vape sessions. If I'm busy, I don't even think about it. So I guess 18350's work great for some people, but may be a pain for others. Use whatever fits your needs.
