Because I enjoy it.
I don't like cartos. They just taste...off to me. Carto tanks seem like a pain in the ...., all the concerns I hear about priming, dumping, etc, plus it's got the same old problem with the cartos. Tanks that use a spiked atty, I've never been able to get to work right, they always taste like plastic and have a really hard draw. Clearos are fine. I use them. They taste great. But here's the thing, I am a high voltage vaper and a chain vaper to boot. Even the mega sized clearos, I can get maybe an hour out of one, and that's pushing it.
Dripping may seem like a pain, but compared to clearo filling all the time? It's a walk in the part. I have to pull the dripper tip off my bottles, get out my syringe or needle bottle cap, remove the mouth piece, remove the outer seal, fill the syringe if that's what I'm using, get the needle down through the hole (I actually prefer a syringe with a soft needle, the hard needle tips are murder on my inner seals), fill it, which usually leads to some overflow and back pressure issues from damage to the inner seal unless the clearo is still pretty new (haven't found a way around that yet, it's just the nature of the gasket to break down over time, especially when using a hard needle, even blunt). So then I have to stick a little paper towel down in there, and wipe it out, plus blow through the device to clear the air chamber. Then put the outer seal and mouth piece back in, recap my juice. After all that, I'm still not out of the park. Clearos have to be kept vertical, or some leakage will take place, which means more blowing out, wasting juice, a mess. And if that's not enough, I still have to worry about dropping, plastic cracking, the tube pulling off. Uhhhhhhh don't even get me started on cleaning. Pulling it all apart, power flush, dry burn, and reassembly.
Don't get me wrong, the flavor is great, and I use them, when I'm on the go....mostly driving. But in my opinion, the two seconds it takes to drip into the atty is absolutely nothing compared to filling and maintaining clearos. Clean up's easy. How water bath, and a PG flood. Good to go again. As for flooding, sometimes it happens, rarely for me. I drip so much I've gotten the hang of it.
