Just some info - its been posted elsewhere but people seem to miss it. Smoktech have not asked distributors to send them the Grooves - so don't need them back. They've advised the distributors to destroy the Grooves themselves, with these instructions:
1)collect defected groove battery and send them to local battery recycling center. ( My Note: I don't recommend sending - drive there if there's one close. or just go to the option 3):
2)If there isn’t any recycling center please try to discharge the groove battery until it wont work (MY Note: This doesn't seem like a great option)
3)You can also Soak them into turated brine concentrated saltwater or seawater for over 1 hour (My Note: After option 1 this is a good second option)
4)Label them by “Failed” “out of use” (My Note: Doesn't solve the problem).
Soaking them in salt water is a good idea, but I know of two vendors who will not accept dismantled or deactivated Grooves back in return for a refund or store credit. Joker, an ECF moderator, has said he wants to look into that:

The vendor I got mine from has refunded my money. I'm going to take the Groove to a battery recycling/disposal centre.
I really think if people take them to battery recycling/dosposal places and get a receipt slip that should satisfy a vendor. They aren't safe to post as is.
I wouldn't recommend a novice start messing with the battery in this mod. Just trying to remove it can result in a puncture - see this video by an experienced vaper:

The plastic Groove is different again, and would have to be broken open. Given the ease with which the battery cover can be punctured in this mod I wouldn't advise breaking open a plastic Groove. Groove owners will know what I mean about having to break it open.
