WOw I hope your husband is doing ok right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I know I can go a few more years of this pain before I have surgery. What I have is my l5 slipped 77% off the s1 so my spine is actually not on straight and slipped forward it is crushing my nerves causing pain down both my legs.

When is the surgery? Also your neuro is he excellent? I can only use the top spine specialist for my surgery. Pretty nuts this spine stuff. How long is the recovery supposed to be?

Like you, I had just opened a pack that morning, and my kit came at lunch. I had my son write the date, 12/16 on the pack, and 16 cigs, so they could count how many times I "cheated". There's still 16 in the pack. I've never wanted another one. This weekend was interesting. I was in close quarters with 8 smokers, for 4 days. I never really craved one. I was content with my PV.
Best of luck to your husband, I hope this is the end of all of it, and he can get some relief. And maybe now your neuro can pass ecig info along to other candidates. You can get free biz cards for this website for him to pass out. All you have to pay is shipping. It's somewhere on this site. sounds like he would be interested, maybe, in spreading the word.

Anyways, welcome!!!

Your symptoms and hubby's sound pretty much the same. His pain is all in his thighs.

The surgeon that did the first 3 surgeries is one of the top 12 in the US. He formed a partnership with some other top surgeons between the 2nd and 3rd surgery. He told hubby after the 3rd surgery that he WOULD NOT go into his back again! We assume that hubby is lowering the doc's success rate! lol He and his partners are now in their own multi tmillion $ complex. They have their own little world there. You see the neuro, for maybe 10 minutes...tops. He tells you he thinks you need pain management therapy. You are sent downstairs for that. Pain management gives injections, charging you a co-pay for office visit and co-pay for surgical procedure, then tell you that you need physical therapy and send you across the hall. They also have in house chiropractors. So, you go through all this, and they decide you need surgery after all. Imagine that!

We found a surgeon who is not affiliated with them, and he is awesome! Hubby mentioned that I had back trouble too, and he asked if I had an MRI lately. He went and pulled it up, looked at it right then. I'm extremely happy with him.

Hubby is still able to work, although he's having to turn down a lot of overtime. Surgery is Jan. 18. Hopefully recovery will be only 8-10 weeks. Neuro sent him back to infectious disease doc to check for MRSA and he's still carrying it in his nostrils, so he's on Bactroban again. Sure hope they get it under control before surgery, although the id doc said he was okay for surgery. I came too close to losing him with the MRSA. That stuff is awful.

Thanks, and congrats! Thanks for reminding me about the business cards too. I meant to order some, and got lost somewhere in here! I need to do that today so I can take them to the next appointment. My family doc is impressed too, and gladly lets me vape in his waiting room and exam room! I'm fairly sure he will let me leave some cards there! I KNOW the neuro will!
