Alot of people do not know about ecigs. And when they see people vapor, they think ( smokers) <--bad word

I vape in public everywhere too except for government buildings, hospitals and such and usually ask before I do but at like at Wall Mart, grocery stores, other stores like Lowes, even restaurants. I just vape aint had any one ask to stop alot of questions about it where people are interested in it!
Don't get me wrong. By weird, I don't mean because I'm vaping, I mean because I've grown accustomed to not partaking of anything while I'm shopping. I can remember smoking a cigarette while doing my grocery shopping--it's been quite some time since that was allowed. On the other hand---in a theater, in my car, in the line at my kids school to pick them up, while getting my car washed....all of these places and more I vape freely. I don't even question if it's "allowed", I just vape. IMO if they question it, it gives me ample opportunity to share what I've learned.
My point was the those that used to smoke and now vape either haven't "smoked" in a public setting for some time other than bars and still don't. Places that vaping would get more exposure like grocery stores, malls, etc. are still....odd. This of course is only my opinion.
unfortunately all the malls here in St. Louis have Kiosk-itis, so people probably all think they're overpriced junk.
If you think about it lets say there are 150,000 vapors (not a fact just an example) the chance that one of them is vaping in the the 2mins you see the person is pretty slim also the fact that each state may have lets say 5,000 people that vape chances are again pretty slim that you see one.
May as well do it like me I get drunk at a bar go outside and vape while others smoke. People get interested and want to try it so I always have a carto/atty with me for people that want to try it and get them into vaping.

me and couple buddies went Wall Marting and we all were vaping through out the store no complaints some funny looks then alot of business cards passed out! I vape at Gas Station while pumping my gas aint even had to show them that its not lit they must know what it is since most of them sell the cheap ones in there tobacco section

This is a very interesting subject. Vaping for 20 months now and have only seen 1 person (stranger) vaping other than the ones i turned on to it. I feel like the world has not really caught on to vaping yet. Give it time.
I look for them too but as of yet haven't seen any other vapers. I hit mine in my Dr.'s exam room to show him one time. (It was cool with him)

My wife fusses at me when I do,,, but. Most times when I get to talking to someone about it they always tell me that I could get them now that look just like a real cigarette. It seems like it upsets them when I tell them that I don't want anything that looks like a cigarette. But I love to watch people watch me vape at the red lights.

If you had been around me today you would have seen me vaping at the oil change shop, in the parking lot of the oil change shop, in the tow truck that I had to get today (my truck had a pretty good problem and I had to have it towed to the shop) in Wal-Mart, and in the local Staples, and in the parking lot of the mall where the last 2 stores were located. I did not try to hide my vaping, but when I was vaping inside, I did keep the vapor down to a minimum. I don't frequent bars, and the only time I am out in public is when I am shopping. I don't have enough disposable cash to go out to eat very often.

There aren't many in this part of the world. I've run in to one other guy who was vaping, it was in a bar in a Laramie, WY. He was using an eGo. Skiddish guy, he acted ashamed of it when I approached him.
I live in a relatively small town in NC which is a big tobacco state. I wouldn't expect to see many.
Hey XDoctor, I just noticed. You seem to be a mass of contradictions. You're an ECF Veteran but, you only have 119 posts. Yet your join date is in 2009. Must be one of those guys that doesn't say much but, when you do it's really good.

Other than my wife, I've never seen another person vaping in Hobart, Tasmania.
But then, I don't make a big show of my vaping either, I only do it in areas where smoking is permitted or where I can't be easily seen. I don't go out of my way to be "challenging."

I haven't seen anyone, except for my friend I talked into starting, BUT I've run into people, 2 different times, that saw me vaping while playing golf. They both knew what is was, because their wives had just started. One was still smoking, the other trying to 'cold turkey method'.
Sad, socializing is part of being happy!! Plus finding somne who vapes, gives you somthing to talk about!
Aside of friends that I have gotten into vaping, I have run into several people vaping openly at work or out an about. Always something small like a LeCig... one dude was trying to get something out of a PV from Pilot I have seen .. $5 and its "good for 300 puffs" and is disposable... too bad when I tried one of these out of curiosity it absolutley sucked and I can see why a person would gamble the $5, feel cheated, and never look into it again.
My son got me interesting in vaping and besides his one friend and my friend (who quit vaping and went back to analogs) I have not seen any vapers yet. But in all honestly I vaped all through the zoo without a single look from people. Seems if you don't emit a noxious smell such as cigarette smoke people will not notice your vaping. So I might have unknowingly passed a few vapers and never saw or smelled them. I think that is what is so awesome about vaping- nobody really notices.
