Why do I want/need temperature control?

the Reason I started this thread was to get real world opinions on how people have found tc,
I've been vaping for about a year (ish) I use a sig 30w mini and lemo's or ipv2 and Kayfuns I make coils with nichrome80 or kanthan depending on the tank or juice I want to vape, I also use mechs and rdas,

The reasons I looked at tc is I'm a trucker and I chain vape and tend to gunk up my coil for my adv quite quickly, I was looking at a set up of a sig75w and a lemo2 for ease of use, ease of filling and mostly not having to rebuild every day

I find that it works very well for me, YMMV.

Honestly, those of you who haven't tried it don't understand how these chips work. And don't really want to know I suppose. That's fine, but continually posting misleading information is not helpful to those who may be interested in this technology.

I'm getting longer battery life using tc than I did using kanthal. So obviously 0.4ohm on ti is not pulling the amps that 0.4 ohm on kanthal does. That I can assure you of. Juice consumption is better also comparing my 0.4 ohm ti build to the 1.3 ohm kanthal build I was using in all 3 attys.

If you don't want to try tc, don't. But, posting negatives that you are assuming if you haven't tried it is improper IMO. Best to answer questions that you know the answer to.

Honestly... From what you said, I'm not sure how TC would help you?

I do know that when I moved to HOF (Hint of Flavor) e-Liquids that the Coil Life in my RTA's/RBA's was GREATLY Extended.

And what you're missing is the chip restricts power to coils and adjusts it accrodingly. Just because I set mine to, say, 15 watts, doesn't mean it will use 15 watts the entire time. That's just its starting power. The chip then pulls power down based on the resistance of the coil, as the relative curve between resistance and temperature is very linear (accurate within 10F)...I get Ohms Law, I understand where you're coming from, but you're missing how all of this works.
Ohh I know how it works.
I even know that it pulses the power and checks resistance between output polses and adjusts the duration of the next pulse accordingly as decided by the programming and temp setting and resistance measured. Or it can measure current output and determine the resistance that way if it outputs straight DC and adjust the voltage to keep the current the temp close to where you set it.
I could build a TC mod from scratch components and program it. However it would be quite large.
I just have no use for TC and do not follow fads.
I might deal in it once it matures and becomes much more plug and play.
I would prefer it as simply a no dry coil type of thing. Just set your wattage and if your coil gets dry it shuts down and lets you know.

But many of us have tried TC.
My experience was that vaping a .1 ohm coil on a DNA 40 ( yes I have watched the evolv video ;) ) was pretty much the same vaping experience as vaping a 2 ohm coil in an A7. Upping the temperature on the TC mod had the exact same result as upping the voltage on a regulated mod.

Sold the DNA40 mod & kept the Provari v2.

But with the added benefit of dropping power if the coild became too dry, which is the entire point of temp control.

Yep if it becomes an automatic dry coil detection function and one only needs to set the wattage then it will be nice. No lockiing in of coil resistance at room temperature and pushing buttons after each tank refil or atty change, etc. Too fiddly and immature of a technology for me at this point.

To each their own. But heres the onle extra steps in process for me.
    1. tap 2 buttons to lock in resistance.

What will you do with all your spare time once they figure out how to do away with that?

Fiddly and immature a while ago. Now its spot on. My vape literally cuts power when there is no more juice. I don't see whats holding you back, all of your concerns are null at this point, and I think you just don't like change.

Right I don't like change that is why I quit smoking and switched to vaping... Why I DIY all my juice and make all my coils?

I do not like change for the sake of changing. If a change makes sense to ME I change otherwise no.

I guess both of you still ride horses so you dont have the problem of oil changes.
LOL up till recent years I was on the bleeding edge of tech with electronics, telecom, servers, programming, etc I was taught how to build a computer using 7400 series chips. I truly understand how they work inside.
A genuine luddite I am, that is me.

One thing different about me. I do not follow any crowds or fads, I only follow my own nose.
And my nose smells some Cinnamon Danish Swirl that needs vapin.
