Like, what's your reasoning for vaping? Reading through the forums, makes me think a lot of people do it for different reasons.( obviously ) Also, did you smoke cigarettes before you switched over? Let's hear it, I'm curious as to why people vape.

I smoked for over 10 years and switched over to ecigs for the past 4, cold turkey. At first it was the nicotine fix I needed and of course, it's a healthier alternative than stinky cigarettes. As of right now though, this is more of a hobby for me more than anything else. I vape very small amounts of nicotine, than I did when I first started out. I have countless mods and devices now, tried most juices out there and just enjoy the hobby of the vaping world.

What's your reasons? Just addicted all together? Cheaper?

Lets hear it.

Chipotle.
At first I did it because it was cheaper and healthier, being presented with a healthier and cheaper alternative that I enjoyed was a no-brainer for me.

Now, after many months of vaping it has become just healthier, cheaper is long gone...funny how that works. Stupid mod buying addiction.

P.s. - Don't tell my Wife.

We started to vape to get away from tobacco cigarettes. Both of us smoked for the past 31 to 32 years or so. My brother who is only 10 months older than myself just had a major stroke the first week of July of this year, and his left side is now paralyzed and though he's not a smoker, it got us thinking again that we need to tighten up our own lives, so we quit the tobacco in favor of vaping, added fish to our diet once a week and substitute more chicken instead of red meats. It's not much, but it's a start.

We are only just under 1 month into this and already feel tremendously better, I can now walk from the parking lot at the Hospital all the way to the other side where my brothers room is and I don't even start to breath heavy, where as when I was a smoker, I would have been huffing and puffing just to walk from the parking lot to the front door of the hospital.

Can't say as it's any less expensive when bottles of liquid run between 12 and $15 for 15ml. I don't consider in the initial hardware since that will be paid for by simply not buying cartons of cigarettes every week now, perhaps it's a bit less expensive as a carton of cigarettes locally is about $45 and I think I go through about 1 1/2 bottles to 2 bottles of liquid a week but that's dropping as I've noticed already that I'm starting to vape less and less without consciously trying to reduce my vaping.

I'm trying my absolute best to NOT turn this into another hobby as I'm known for jumping in feet first without looking every time that I pick up a new hobby and that used to be very very expensive.

Aquariums... Sounds like a cool hobby, next thing I know I'm clearing out room to have that 100 gallon tank installed.

Remote controlled planes and trucks, next thing I know I've spent over a grand and visiting the hobby shop every 3 days.

Video games... Next thing I know there is over 350 videos games on my steam account.

So... Yeah, desperately trying to NOT turn vaping into any sort of hobby.

Tell me about it I spent about $300 on a mech, RDA and DT last month and almost $300 the last 2 days on a mech, RTA and DT, and I'm trying to buy another mech, but it's so cheap.

It's just now the half way point of the month, four packages have already shown up thus far and I have five more in transit to me, I've also got a pre-order floating around out there that hasn't been shipped yet. Yeah, the addiction is real but it's worth not destroying my lungs and I don't go TOO far overboard with it.

If you're only buying authentic pieces like I have been lately it hurts thinking how much you spent, with clones it can get bad but doesn't hurt as much.

I'm in a very similar situation as you are freeall. I smoked for 37 years and have been vaping for 2 1/2 years. I was completely off nicotine for six months and now vape 2 mg most of the time. I make my juices and enjoy that part of the hobby as well as rebuildable attys and mech mods. I don't have that much hardware, but I have what I need.

I used to smoke reserve smokes for around $28 a carton per week and I've spent way less than that on vaping. I'm comfortably at around a buck a day now including everything. Works for me :)

Because I wanted to have my cake, and eat it too, but not die from it. I loved smoking. I'd quit for long stretches, and then start up again. Over and over. I'm a pure hedonist at heart really. So I vape because I enjoy the hell out of it, but the fact that it fills the same niche as smoking without being equivalent to slow suicide was definitely the motivation to try it in the first place.

I needed to do something healthier for myself and my family, not to mention how budget friendly it is (for me- 1 month in and have only spent half of what I would have on cigs). We were on vacation this week and I hiked without hesitation, up several flights of steps to reach the top of a waterfall. Smoker MamaRymes would have waited at the bottom for the family to get back. I wasn't even winded when I got up there.

I started because it could be a healthy alternative and cheap way to get some nicotine, didn't know if i would like it or not.
Id been off cigarettes for awhile, but was craving them and replacing them with comfort foods, ended up over eating at night when i was off nicotine.

So far, so good as i love the flavor and nicotine hit at 12mg, i eat more normal now too.

Hubby made the suggestion of having ecigs for plane trips. He was under the mistaken impression they were legal to use while flying. That made me look up and research ecigs. All searches led me to ECF. So I read.

And I read

And I read

For weeks I read all about the stories of people being able to quit smoking.
I read about all the devices that were out at the time.
I read about the ones that didn't work well and the ones that did.
I read until my brain was swimming and continued to read.

Finally figured out what to purchase that would give me a fighting chance but wouldn't hurt so bad, financially, if it didn't work. Cuz ya know nothing ever did before....

Right after I took my first vape, I signed up to this site. :)
One month later, I was a non smoker. I let the vape take over and the cigs really started tasting nasty

Didn't really do it for anyone or any particular reason. I just thought I would give it a try. Almost 2 years ago.

I started vaping when my new landlord announced that no smoking was allowed. That was in 2011 when I was vaping Njoys with the rechargeable batts and replaceable carts. I reduced my analog consumption to 6 a day, when I had to go outside to smoke, even when the temperature reached -7 degrees! I quit the Njoys 8 months later because I started hacking up a lung with every toot, and went back to the stinkies when I moved to my current apartment.

Fast forward to October, 2013. I wanted to try the refillable ego style, so I picked up an ego clone starter kit at the local tobacco shop, along with 24mg juice. I was satisfired and surprised to find out there was no choking on it! I kept it up until I ended up quitting the stinkies altogether a month after my first ego. I no longer needed the stinkies for my nic fix.

Non-tobacco flavors really keep me vaping. Now I'm stepping down from 18mg to 15 or 12, depending on the flavor and whether I drip or use a tank/clearo: 12mg for the dripping and 15mg for the clearos/tanks.
