Unfortunately, klynn is correct that once the filler material/batting has been burnt you won't be able to get the taste out. It's like a burnt piece of cloth. I have blog still in the editing stage that might be of help in the future - not so much the method (everyone has their own), but for the pictures. It will give you an idea of what a primed carto should look like:

Thank you! I think it was bad punched holes because it was not feeding the carto but the holes where big enough I believe. Is that possible?

More likely it wasn't primed enough to begin with. The holes can be huge, but if the batting isn't already primed it won't wick properly. The holes feed liquid from the tank into the carto filler, but it has to already be wet. The batting isn't absorbent like paper towel, it's a poly fill. If it's dry, it will burn before you can suck hard enough to get liquid through holes and wet the filler - if that makes sense.

Does the size of the holes have to be big if I am using a 50/50 and have 2 holes?

2-holes can usually handle 50/50, but you could experiment with 3 or punch your own. I prefer laser pre-punched because I use 70pg/30vg and the size holes carto punch tools make are too big for me - it might work for you though.

I make my juices 70/30pg/vg so I don't have too many problems but with a higher vg juice you need to make sure the carto is fully saturated the first time. Usually after that it will feed properly in the tank. Maybe the ocelot can give more info on thicker juice. I would think 2 holes would be plenty for 50/50/

Not that much more. I have a few 50/50 juices, but most of mine are 70pg/30vg. I have more trouble with holes being too large and feeding too quickly, than the other way around.
