I live in a rather large city. I vape openly in public, but have yet to meet another vaper in my city. I do get a lot of looks in the car when I'm vaping on my long batteries and tanks. I did get some folks interested in vaping at the dog park. But they don't vape at the park.

Until vaping is mainstream and the public knows what it is, it will still be a mystery to folks. We need to be the pioneers to show them what its about. That is why I don't mind answering questions about it. I smile driving by the poor smokers huddled next to their cars and I'm in my nice warm car vaping away. It almost makes me want to stop and tell them about vaping.

I have seen only one other person vaping in the wild and I live and work in and around Boston. It was outside of a music club and she was vaping almost inside of her coat despite being on the sidewalk surrounded by smokers in that "make a break for it" moment between bands. I, however, was standing there with my cigarette smoking friends, fielding questions about the eGO and enjoying their company just like I always did when I smoked. A few of them even had disposable e-cigs squirreled away in their pockets and were excited to find out that things like the eGO exist and that for a few bucks more they could really cut down and cut out and I've been helping them as much as a newbie can. I wouldn't be surprised if a few show up here within a few days or weeks. It seems that there needs to be more information on the availability of the PVs before more people switch over. I'm doing my humble part.

2013 will be the year that vapping goes mainstream- it has already broke in the media and the 'stars' are showing it off on air (Heidi on David letterman-YouTube ). I live in a tiny town (1500), no Vapers here, none in big towns (12000), haven't seen anyone else, but don't care, I will not hide it. I will answer anyone's questions on what I am 'smoking'

i have meet 2-3 people ( strangers ) vaping in my city ( around 1 million ppl ). i keep a low profile when vaping in public. i assume others do it to. i have introduced vaping to all of my smoker friends. just 3 of them still vape. many of my friends who tried gave up because of the infinite issues we all have experienced ( wicking, burning, bad burning flavor, non consistent vape, messy atomizers, leaking ). i really really wish for a better vape solution to be invented. one that just works

recently in my small town in kentucky a vapor store has opened up, it started as a flea market booth a year ago now they have 1 store in london, ky and 1 in somerset, ky which is where i live. Soon they will be opening another store in lexington, ky. Its called magic vapor shop. Before that store was here i had only seen 1 or 2 vapers around here. Now there are many mostly people i know and that ive seen at the vapor shop.

It's def not considered mainstream yet. I hardly ever see ecig users but I also live in a big tobacco state. The few that I do know for the most part are in between cig lookalikes but still smoke analogs. They tend to think my ecig with a viva nova looks weird. It draws a lot of attention to me but I really don't care. The lookalikes their using didn't work for me & aren't really working for them.

Really think as a very 'mature' smoker that we have all been ground down by the 'virtuous viragoes/miragoes' of the anti-smoking lobby in our society who know what is best for everyone else, that we are reluctant to assert our right to make choices, particularly in regard to nic products. I have vaped in public, in the smoker's area but would love the 'where-with-all' to vape right under their snout!!! LOL I worked as an R.N. for nearly 50 yrs and picked up butts from doctors in the most unusual places. Wonder how many are 'closset smokers' these days?? Have fun and Vape On!!

I've seen two...

One was a lady at the Jubilee in June. She was standing on the corner of Parliament Square using an Ego-T...but this was before I got back into vaping.

The other was in a pub the other week and I was terrified because it was a real cig-a-like and I thought he'd seen me using mine and thought it was OK to smoke. I really panicked until I realised I was being a total wally. I'd have gone and said hi but I'd been giving him funny looks for about an hour. You'd have thought I'd have realised when he kept putting it in his pocket! I can almost see why some pubs don't like people using e-cigs if even people who vape can't tell the difference! Lol!x
