You left out the juice manufacturer.

The juice manufacturers are in the middle of this and don't actually enter into the equation. They will either do what's required by the consumer (in a free market), or they'll do what's required by the government. Those two 'ends' are currently at odds.
Consumers want quality juice. Government wants someone who will pay them to ensure that there is no competition in their marketplace. That's the issue, in a nutshell.
Arguing about the sharpness of the sword is kinda' silly when your neck is on the block.

Yep. People like us are better off the hooch. A top shelf bottle of scotch and Thunderbird wine might as well be the same thing to me.

Heh.. or even Nyquil. They say it's supposed to help you sleep? Pah! It just lit me up like a christmas tree! All I wanted was MORE... and that stuff tastes NASTY!

My question is changed from what to what? It is a perception and we all perceive differently. I say they should not blatantly appeal to juveniles. What is my definition of blatant? I foresee the FDA requiring plain labels possibly with some color and no logos or characters. This has come about because we are being lumped in with tobacco and judged by their sins.

The only thing NyQuil makes me do is drink more NyQuil...until I can find alcohol. Fortunately, I've been completely free for almost 16 years.

Aug 14 I'll have 23 years' worth of one-day-at-a-time. But that's old news... on July 25, I'll have a whole year of smoke-free! Which was also one day at a time! :D

Right On Andria.

The Promises do Come True don't they.

Absolutely! I particularly like the one about god doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.... for myself, I could lay off beer and go to meetings.... after about 10 yrs of that, I realized that I no longer had the compulsion to drink AT ALL. Truly a miracle!!

The other night when I had that bad burn, it just would NOT stop hurting. In desperation, I turned to the hydrocodone I didn't take after my appendectomy.... just one of those, and about an hour later, I realized I didn't even LIKE that feeling anymore! That woozy spinning-head that I used to pay good money to get! :D But it did help the pain enough so I could get to sleep, and that was what I was after, not that icky feeling, so I'm glad I didn't toss those pills when I didn't need them after my surgery -- they're useful drugs, not recreation! :D

If you have a question, you can post it in the new members area, even if it's about a specific device. As you can tell non-new members often answer threads here.
Thanks, all set :) I don't have any questions except maybe what happened to all the posts I made back in 2011? ;-) I guess they didn't transition to the new forum software. Have been on reddit and fb for a few years and forgot ecf existed, came back to my account and I've got 0 posts since 2010. who knows, it's working as expected now.

Thank you for watching this Senate Hearing. I know it was Hard to Watch.

Because now You Understand Exactly what type of People we are Fighting Against. And the Level of Distortions and Perverse Tactics that they will have No Problem Using.

You Hit the Nail on the Head when you mentioned that if Someone Didn't Know anything, how these Senators would Reasonable and that they were doing this Because they Cared about People.

And that is Exactly what the General Public is. Uninformed. About the Only Information about e-Cigarettes they get are the Negative Spin that Policy Makers and the Media has put on them.

People post that I am Over-Reacting. Or that All this Really Isn't a Big Deal. It Bothers Me. But I can Understand why someone would say that if they have Not Seen this Senate Hearing. Because they just Don't Understand just what type of Perverse Enemy we are going Up Against.

I don't think you're overreacting, and I have watched the Senate hearing. They are out to get us, and they will say just about anything to get vaping where they want it to be.

Where we differ is, you seem to want to accept their lies, and think that that will somehow help us. I, and many others, want to bring their lies to light and do so in whatever ways that we can. For some of us that is writing to representatives, writing to news organizations, posting on social media, correcting misinformation in posts like these...

I've said it before, I'll say it again, if we can get people to understand that "the children" don't need to be protected from vaping, all of their arguments lose their justification.

I'm not Excepting any of their Lies. But I'm not the Non-Vaping Public.

You say we Need to get People to Understand "that "the children" don't need to be protected from vaping". I think that would be a Fantastic Goal.

How do we Do It?

I think the first step is to stop acting like everything that can be spun as "harmful to children" actually is.

When you see someone post a story about the "number of poison control center calls tripling over the last two years" point out that they tripled from about 1,000 to 3,000, as compared to the hundreds of thousands of calls about household products, and that calls do not equal poisonings.

Couldn't Agree More.

So how do we Get this Message out of the ECF. And Into the Ears of the General Public?

Since most of us here do not have a public forum to address these types of things we have to work with what we have. Continue to write letters to congress, make posts (As I believe you said you do) on the CASAA site that outline all the positive that vaping has done for you personally. Spread the word to your non vaping friends. The more we talk positively about it the better. Talk with hopes that just one more person will hear you and continue to talk to others about vaping. Word of mouth is the best tool most of us have. I occasionally make a general post on my FB about how vaping has helped me personally. Will it reach the ear of the general public? Probably not but it is what I can do. Please remember zoiD, we are all on the same side here, in that we enjoy vaping. I don't want to argue with you, but I also don't want to tell anybody to change the way they are doing business without knowing what rulings will come down. I want to be as supportive and positive as I can in hopes of gaining as much ground as we can.

by stretching the boundaries.
by vaping often, proudly and, with out remorse in public.
its just flavored stage fog folks.
its the same thing as a medical inhaler for asthma.
don't eat tomato's there is nicotine in them.
we must stop acting like we have something to hide.
it wont hurt you, your children and, heaven forbid your pets.
except may be cats. the little turds might be sensitive.
so on second thought vape more around cats. i really don't
care.(about cats that is)
we have to stop falling into the ANTZ's chillin' rhetoric.
most of the science is on our side.a lot of their science is
on our side when you look at the details.
we have to realize with zero science on their side
they can get everything they wan't by uttering two
words. "the chillin'"
:2c:

As a juice maker, my labels have the verbiage "May contain nicotine, keep out of reach of children. Must be 18 or older." I think it's the responsible thing to do. I don't want a bottle of my juice to be cause for speculation if an under age person is caught by their parents, and the kid falls back on the bottle claiming they didn't know. That has lawsuit written all over it.
