Don't get me wrong, Nemesis clone is one fine mech. I'm just trying to understand why is it more popular than, say, Astro or Chi You clones? Both are shorter than Nemesis, Chi You has AFC, Astro is telescoping. Both hit very hard -- to my understanding, all three have very similar voltage drop.

So, why is it that much more popular?

besides all the other stuff already posted the nemi has posted a very low voltage drop so it is very efficient and powerful. the brass has even less drop. in testing i got a .1-.2v drop with my brass nemi.. the nemi also has AFC and can use magnets as well as adding different pins.

on top of that it is a nice looking mod that can be customized by mixing and matching the different finished tubes. as more and more come out they will be just as nice but its hard to beat a proven mod for around 20 bucks, basically it came out a while ago and just got the head start on everything else. the real one came out 4-5 months before the clone so by then it already had traction.

Doesn't all the same apply to Chi You? :)

yea but at the time they hit the market the nemesis was actually more available and has the benefit of a well established company behind it. and I believe it was cheaper, cant remember.

atmomixani already has/had a long standing reputation for quality products and no marketing or push was needed for them to sell yet another high end product.

it's just like if provape releases something, everyone already knows what to expect and will sell like it is on fire. even if there is something better.

I see plenty talk of chi, and atoms and other mods just as popular

My ss nemesis clone hits harder than my brass cyc. Don't know if it's the silver plated contacts or what. My vela clone is shorter than the nemesis clone i think it's 60mm. It's tiny and you might have to sand down the top 510 pin for some rbas if you want it flush and if you have button tops batteries

Subtle, clean good looks and no major design flaws. Also one of the first 1:1's to come out and thus got a head start. Some of the other nice clones will start gaining ground if it is proven and well known that they consistently work well, like the Nemmy clone.

Agreed^
I enjoy the clean looks of the nemesis. Straight 22mm all the way up and down and no added gadgets and extras. I've never been a big fan of the chi because of the rings on the top and bottom. The nemesis is just simple and beautiful. The artwork on the legitimate ones is also a huge plus, its amazing. In functionality though, I believe they are all identical, but everyone has their own personal preference for style.

i chose the nemesis clone over some other mech I was looking at because of the adjustable centre pin and silver plated contacts. I can't remember what the other mod was now, but it was popular too. I think it might have been the magneto. If the other mods you mentioned have adjustable centre pins, then in my eyes they are all even, it's down to aesthetics. although now that I own a nemesis, i have a soft spot for it.
and they have just started selling the magnets for the nemesis on fasttech for a buck.

IMHO, the Nemesis is more versatile than other mechanical mods. It has an adjustable 510 pin to fit your atomizer flush, it has a telescoping bottom button that can be used independently of the 510 center pin, and it has a beauty/Kick ring that you can use to add a little height to your mod if needed. Using these three independent mechanisms, you should be able to accommodate any 18mm diameter battery type (nipple or no nipple), mechanical fuse, Kick, atomizer, etc. I have some mods that have floating center pins or telescoping center pins and there are just some battery, fuse, and atomizer combinations that do not work or leave gaps. I think that these design points set the Nemesis apart from other mods. Are there nicer mods out there? Absolutely, but none as versatile as the Nemesis IMHO.

I have a nemmy, chi you, surf rider, natural, brass just gg, etc. and Nemmy is probably the easiest to use and most simplistic of all of them. Super reliable, great versatility, works every time!!! IMO there is hardly a better easier device to use as a daily. I love my other mechs for different reasons but for just a down right great mech its numero uno.

Im happy i kept adding mods to my collection, seems like each one gets better, but im honestly thinkn the Nemmy is where the game ends, like i said, its the ''best mech on the planet.''I have the brass because i like the ''grippy'' feel as opposed to SS,i was surprised to how light the brass model is,i figured it would be like my M16,which feels like a brick of lead, dont get me wrong, the M16 is one rockn mod too.Silver pins on the Nemmy makes the world of difference too,no need too clean,I LOVE THE NEMMY.Im almost tempted too get the orginal.

I have the nemmy, chi u and astro clones.
I like them all, but the nemmy is my favorite.
Astro comes in second place and the chi u last out of the 3.
My favorite things about the nemmy........
Easy to adjust center pin.
Easy to adjust for different length batteries.
Simple clean look.
I don't use the afc, but I think it is well executed and smooth.
Kayfun and russian look and work the part well with it.

Astro. Great mod. Telescoping is nice, but obviously makes it slightly larger in diameter.
It is a wonderful fit for the Taifun GT though.
I have that atty married to it.

I find it a pain to adjust the chi u for different length batteries.
There is a lot of screwing and unscrewing of the top cap to get the pins set right.
It seems kinda bulky.
I mostly use my brass chi u with my gold trident. Great combo.

But out of all the mods I have, I reach for the nemmy the most.
So much so I have 4 of them.
2 ss
1 brass
1 mixed.
Will definitely be buying the real deal nemmy soon. If only for the fact to support atmomixani and the time spent on the design.

My daily drivers for work today.
Astro/Taifun GT
Nemmy/Russian 91%

All the selling points for the Nemesis have been very well explained by previous posters. I cannot surpass their eloquence. For Christmas my wife got me a HCigar Nemesis. I love it! I have 7 mods right now and this is my absolute favorite. I have a brass Nemesis clone in route from Fast Tech. I am curious to see how it compares to the one I just got. I now finally see what all the hype is about - the Nemesis is really that great a device. I have been telling myself that when my 1 year anniversary of being smoke free comes around I will buy a high end to celebrate (of my 7 mods, 5 are clones). I think now I know which one it will be :)
