Why pod mod and not just a mtl tank?

I vape 5mg/ml salts in both RTAs and Pods. Started at 50mg/ml. Pods are convenient because of their small size.
A spill of 50mg/ml is not a big deal FOR ME. It's really not that high FOR ME. I have much higher concentrated stocks that would be much more worriesome. FOR OTHERS who may come in contact with the spill, getting an unwanted dose of ANY concentration is not welcome and it makes vapers look bad. An unwanted exposure of others to 3mg/ml or 6mg/ml is still irresponsible. It's important to be mindful of others.

I figure that if I want a pod-like experience, I'll break out my old Evod tank with a 2.2 Ohm coil on a 650mAh Ego.
I'll be honest, none of the pods i've tried.Some of today's pods are probably better than that.

I've only tried the MyBlu (because it was $1)...the Evod is better.
BTW, realized my old 650mAh is dead, but I still have a functional 900mAh!
Well, I'll admit I've only used one recent pod-like device, and it isn't a true pod; it's the Aspire Breeze, and with a 0.6 ohm coil, it's a pretty decent vape. I got a couple of them at the end of last summer for a trip to Europe 'cause the TPD was in full effect by then and I didn't wish to risk any of my regular devices (none of which are even remotely TPD compliant) to an over-zealous customs inspector. Since I paid a whopping $15.00 each or them, I wasn't worried about losing them.
I started on a ccell4 I had lying around... 55mg salts. Was a little better than the boulder rock pod I tried next. I was sucking down 10-15ml a day. Went to a Nord coil on the Trinity alpha, 35mg 0.6ohm 30w... And the 10ml a day I was getting made me not want a smoke.
I've tried the Blu, Juul, Eleaf iCare, and the Lostvape Orion. The Evod Ego combo beats all of them hands down. Tbh, I still haven't found as satisfying a MTL vape as the Kanger protank2 or Evods of 2012/2013. I've moved on to RTA's now, mostly because the old Evod/Protank coils were getting tougher and tougher to find, and I got tired of re-building those tiny coils.
It's all about personal preference though. The air flow and throat hit from those devices were just perfect for me and my 10mg/ml nic.
The ccell is your average 510 cigalike. I think it's 1.8ohm, and I have a vv 480mah battery. It's basically older tech then the evod. The 1.4ohn Nord coils are fairly similar to an ego clearomizer, or ccell. Which is to say, a pretty good restrictive MTL draw vape.
I vape 25mg salt nic in "MTL" tanks, usually at 7-11W, 15-20W on sub-ohm coils. I don't do too much MTL. I take 3-9 second DTL "tokes". I like cool, smooth vapor.
Salt nicotine is just nicotine that has been extracted using a method developed in the 90's in China. It's also odorless and tasteless just like freebase nicotine. Freebase nicotine, however, is a colorless liquid, and salt nicotine is a crystal (hence "salt") that has a slight amber color, which is still noticeable even after being diluted to 25 mg/ml.
I use it because it's less harsh. 25mg salt nic solution is mellower than even 10mg freebase. IMO. YMMV.

OK I'm kidding - I use an innokin EQs myself at work due to its tiny size and pocketability - but this type of setup is also pretty tiny:

We're all different. I normally vape a 6 mg juice these days DL or mildly restricted DL. I got an EQ pod and thought "great, I'll give a 35 mg nic salt a shot". Couldn't stop coughing for a half hour. Now a plain 12 mg nic juice works great in it, is satisfying for a pocket out and about, but no, not really an adv if I'm home. I also recently received a Z Biip which is more part pod/part AIO. Large 1,500 mAh battery, and the pod uses the replaceable Zenith Plexus 3D coils and all the other from the Zenith line. With the 3 air holes open it's a restricted DL/looser mtl. My 6 mg works fine it it.
There are lots of solutions out there. Not every one is a perfect fit for every user. High concentration nic salts are not for me. Maybe they would have 4 years ago when I stopped smoking, but no way now. Pod solutions these days are useful for some situations and way better than the Vuse cigalike I started on. Small tank/mod setups are good options as well. I have a little Zenith on a CF mini and it's a nice setup pretty much the same size as some pods. You buy what works and vape what you like. Fortunately we still are at a point where the vape selection is large and diverse. Let's hope it stays that way so we can even have conversations about new products and juices in the future before it gets regulated out of business and all that's left for something new is Juul's latest release.
