I have a maxistack and I'm using a smoktech cartomizer tank with it. I have about 4 cartomizer tanks and only 1 works. It doesn't work 100% of the time but if anything works with the maxistack, it'll be this 1 cartomizer/tank. Does anyone know why? Do you think maybe its the ohms? With something like a maxistack, how many ohms should your cartomizer be? If it's too low will it not work?

If you have a multimeter, check the resistance in the cartos and the voltage provided by the maxistack. If everything checks out OK I would suspect the center pin dos not make good enough contact. You can try to pry up the center pin on the mod or pull the center pin on the carto out somewhat. Do you have any cartos or atty that work on the maxistack 100% of the time?

A variation in ohms shouldn't cause you a problem unless the cartos are completely failed, or zero ohms. The maxistack doesn't have internal electronics that are going to cut off if the ohms are too low, though. I also strongly suspect that the center pin is not making contact. Pull it up like Stef64 says and also make sure that your connection is clean. A thin layer of juice on the connector can foul the connection.

Note: the center pin in the carto does not unscrew, even though the grove may make it look like it does. Just pry it up a little with a paperclip or similar.

The center pin is suspended in a silicone ring that insulates it from the outer ring. Pull one leg out on a jumbo paper clip. Use pliers to form a right angle bend that will fit into the hole in the center connection. That bend will give you something that will grab onto the center pin and allow you to pull it out a little. When you finish, you should have just a little of the center pin exposed above the outer ring.

The center pin gets pushed back a little at a time when you screw the atty onto the battery. All you need is light pressure to work. We all tend to screw the atty on a little tighter than it needs to be. Eventually, center post contact is lost.

Have you tried anything else on your MRS? What are the results? If it works fine with another type of hardware, it's not the mod. If it still doesn't want to fire with something else on it, it may be the switch in the mod. Try pulling the pins down just a hair and try it again.

I've tried several cartomizers and had no luck other than the 1 that works only sometimes and those sometimes, it seems to have a little juice on the connection.
