Why should I wash my atomizer before usage?

I believe nichrome is highly resistant to oxidization, so it probably doesn't need a protective oil film but I have never seen how wire is made... perhaps oil is used during the process of making it into a wire.

Correct. Nichrome is very resistant to oxidation. If it did oxidize, we would be in a world full of hurt.

Oxidation of Aluminum = Alzheimer's (so it's thought but who wants to take the chance by heating aluminum and inhaling it?)

"There is a strong connection between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease. Research clearly demonstrates abnormally high accumulations of aluminum within the brains of Alzheimer's victims. Independent studies performed in Norway, the United Kingdom, France and Canada, show a direct correlation between the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease and aluminum concentrations..."

You can google scientific claiming it does and doesn't. Still who wants that chance?

You know, it's pretty simple. "Primer fluid" is most likely just either factory juice, or pg/vg. So WHY does it taste nasty, and sometimes can be tasted on some and not others?

It's simple. Some attys are sitting around a while, and that fluid soaks up the flavor of what it's soaking, while others get bought and used just as fast as fast can be.Just like teabags. The longer the bag of tea leaves sits in the hot water, the stronger the tea gets.

So, is it safe? I doubt it will have any health issues. It's just flavor. But, if you find you regularly get that nasty metallic tastefrom a particular model or supplier, take a little bit and wash it out. Why ruin your vaping of the sublime with some rat funk nasty thing that tastes like liquid .... or mouldy sweat socks?

I dont like the taste of the "factory" juice in every new cart ive used. When I start using a new atty,I just throw a drop or two of juice in it before I start vaping with it.
Im wondering if the bad taste some experience is just because the atty is actually a little "dry" out of the box.

Well, i'm not saying it's pointless. But, if you feel it tastes nasty, then give it a good cleaning. Doesn't matter if it's brand new and out of the box or a month old. If you don't like the taste, and you're sure it's not some suicide concoction you've pulled from your bum, then clean they atty.

But, there's no super secret sauce they junk it up with. No machining fluid, no used motor oil, no liquid crotch. If you can stand the "primer taste" or even like that flavor, go right on ahead and vape up. it won't be an issue. But, if it's dead nasty, and you cannot stand it, cleaning it will usually get rid of that taste without being forced to vape it out.

Why is it that so many smokers inhaled who knows what for years, and can't stand to vape off about 20 puffs of marlboro e-liquid?

I didn't become a vaper to be a wuss. I sincerely hope none of you did either.

As for putting a new atomizer in water - what's the point? One need only blow out the primer with their wussbreath, and redrip a few drops of whatever floats your boat.

I noticed that the "primer fluid" from electronicstix is pretty good tasting with my tobacco flavored e-juice, so I just order from them because I haven't had a bad tasting "primer" yet from them.

Ive never noticed any nasty taste so far breaking in new attys either. My titan from electronicstix tasted freaking delicious the first drag.

If you've never tasted the horrific, nasty, disgusting hideousness that some people are talking about then you have no idea what you're talking about, and your contributions to this discussion are neither helpful nor relevant. And it ain't freaking marlboro flavor we're talking about, and it ain't any other freaking flavor of liquid known to man.

But it just MIGHT be bone dry atomizer.
And if it ain't bone dry atomizer, then it is something nasty that deserves a GREAT deal of discussion.

Exactly, I couldn't have put it better.......the taste that I have 'sometimes' experienced isn't anything like the taste of juice.....it's so bad that I know it isn't something I should be inhaling........ If you have never experienced that taste then it's pointless commenting in this thread. These are probably the very same people who have never experienced any 'plastic' taste from a strand of polyfill getting onto the atomizer either. (something I haven't tasted again since I stopped using the polyfill)

and like casey says whatever it is that causes that taste it's easily fixable by rinsing a new atty with vodka or something like that.
