Whenever I go to my local shop I get weird looks when I whip the provari out and vape it. Even weirder looks when I blow a huge cloud coming out of my dripper. Why the provari hate? I mean it's getting old defending my mod. I dont even feel I have to, but sometimes the haters are too much. Most of these people are using mechs. I like my mechs as well, but the precious has no equal in my stable.

There is a cloud contest coming up and I won the last two with my nemmy and patriot. But this time I may go provari just to prove a point!

What makes you think they are hating on you? perhaps they are just curious about what it is.
Has anyone said anything bad or derogatory about it?
just curious

When I have my ProVari with me at a vape shop or a vapemeet, people just want to look at it. I remarks like it's smaller than they thought it was. Never had anything said about it.

I think the difference on a forum is that people have not seen one in person, so they don't really get it. Much like those people who believe vaping is bad or worse than smoking based solely on what they have heard.

The snide remarks once they ask what I'm using. The that thing costs so much and does not do vw! God I hate that. Vw is over rated to me. I also keep my provari in a sleeve most days. So most if the time if they want to know they have to ask. This one shop has a bunch of people that think they know what is up. They all use clones and think mechs are the be all end all. I love my nemesis a lot, but to say that mechs are THE only way to go is plain dumb. I would never ever give up my provari's but my mechs I could care less about. Nothing special just a tube.

My brother is like that. "You've just exchanged one bad habit for another, you'll do it in front of kids and they will think it's okay." He also smokes, chews, and drinks a pot of coffee a day.

I usually drink one maybe two cups of coffee a day, and vape about 2 ml a day. I think what bothers him the most is that I *always* have my ProVari in my hand, my pocket, or within arm's reach.

I have one friend who refers to it as my 'baby bottle' because I always have it with me.
Whatever. It works for me so what difference does it make??

I get that, too. So I had some fun one day. I have rather severe ADHD, and nicotine and caffeine are my treatment method, since I will not take Adderal or Ritalin. So one day, I told one of my mouthy co-workers, "The nicotine is as much for you as me, and I can prove it."

So we were working on a field job all day, so I left my ProVari in my car when we went into the building for the survey. We started at 7. By 8, my ADHD was starting to show, I was talking faster, moving faster, and was losing focus. By 9am, he was having trouble keeping up with my thoughts and rapid fire instructions. By 10am, he was frazzled, tired, and asked for my keys. I asked him what for. He said, "I am getting your ProVari, and I will never, ever, say another word to you about it again. You're right, it is for the rest of us more than for you."

It's another form of prejudice and bias. As Ocey pointed out, the only people who snub their noses towards a Provari or its owner are those who have never owned one, and are making a predetermined judgement about the owner just because he owns one. These people believe Provari owners only use them because they are a "status symbol".

The truth is, people buy a Provari because they have heard the good word of mouth recommendations of hundreds of owners. Words like "dependable", "reliable", "consistant", "durable", and "smoother" are always mentioned when they describe theirs. When all is said and done, aren't these the very traits we all want in our mod?

This is the only forum i use, so not sure if the UK forums have the same sort of thing with the anti-provari brigade. I've looked at a few forums, but not for that specifically so never noticed it. I've certainly never noticed anyone in b&m stores with any kind of attitude towards them - I've been in a fair few B&Ms locally and chatted to lots of people and even those that dont stock provaris acknowledge they are a quality device. It seems odd that something that's made in the USA gets under the skin of so many americans - i could understand it more if the people criticising were from overseas.

MVP2's are the perfect Mini-Me's for the ProVari. They provide me a similar vape at 1/5th the cost and for travelling they are unrivaled in their convenience. My phone charger charges both my phone and MVP.

After having my MVP2 for a week i agree with this. I nearly bought a semovar, but when i thought about it the main reason i needed another mod was for travel and buying a semovar would be akin to getting another provari and i would rather have another provari. As you say, when you take cost into account the MVP2 sits really well as a back-up for provari owners.

Feel free to use it whenever you wish, Ms Tina. It is for us all.

There's this one too. I've offered it to several people, known ProVari haters without signatures. They have all declined.
One responded with the Groucho Marx quote, "I would never belong to a club that would have me as a member."
I replied with, "I'll be sorry to see you leave ECF, but you gotta do what you gotta do." :(
He's left that thread alone for at least 24 hours. :D

I hate to admit it, but when I first cam on to this forum I thought " what is this thing about Provari?" everywhere I looked was a thread about them

I did some reading, and as we don't have a lot of them in Canada, wondered what they were like. Then last week I went in to a local B & M for batteries and held on that the manager had (they don't sell the...yet) and I thought DAMN it FEELS good...yes feels good...couldn't believe it. I'm hoping this summer to order one. Maybe have it sent to someone in the US and have them bring it up...just got my 134 and want to enjoy that a while lol

Actually it's stunning that ProVape has been so successful in their mail order endeavor. Like pbusardo says. Words and Pictures do not come close to describing what it is like to use a ProVari.

I had to pick it up....play with it....vape it.....

Then I was hooked.
