Will sense of smell and taste return to normal once converted to ecigs?

Well, I'm a bit disappointed. After 10 weeks, nothing has changed noticeably for me except that my wife is a lot happier. Sense of smell and taste have not changed any that I can tell. Analogs do not not stink and smokers do not stink. My breathing hasn't improved. Papa Murphy pizza still tastes awesome. Smokey Moe's brisket is still delicious and the fajitas at Taco Cabana are still great. I think my truck does smell better without all the ashes and ciggy butts in the tray. My eyes don't burn any more when I'm in my work shed with every thing closed up and the AC going.

Ah, but I do notice the cough is gone. Wifey says I don't wake her up at night any more with my coughing. I always thought she was making that up anyway, LOL.

Perhaps there is a point of no return, say 40 years, when one's taste and smell are permanently damaged.

Honestly, I haven't touched a cigarette since July 22nd.....4PM. Funny how we can remember our last cig, but not our first.

It took me almost two months for my taste to return and here's why. I was PM'g back & forth w/an ECF friend, and when I told her that I couldn't taste what others rave about in the eJuices, she asked me what juice I vaped. When I told her it was atomic cinnacide, she told me that the cinnamon numbs my taste buds. I didn't think so, but started vaping more subtle juices, and she was right! My taste returned within the week. This may not be the cause for others, but it was definitely the cause for me.

Well, NOW I'm glad my wife didn't let me smoke in the house. I wasn't too happy about it, but at least we don't have 7 years of tar and nicotine stains on the walls, smoke odor in the carpet, etc. My work shop, thats a different story. When I take the wall clock down to change the battery, there is a bright white circle on the wall right behind the clock.

after a week i've noticed how incredibly terrible my car smells. unfortunately my girlfriend still smokes analogs (not much, maybe 4 or 5 a day, compared to my 25+), and i can smell them on her a mile away. since i started smoking at about 16 (about the time i started kissing a lot of girls, hehe) and i never got to kiss a smoker before that, i never understood the term "tastes like kissing an ashtray" until now. i don't want to pressure my girlfriend into switching to e's or quitting altogether, but i figure she'll eventually see how happy i am to be smoke free after her dating me for 2 years as a smoker and want to either transition as well or give up entirely. she's taken a few puffs off my 808 with some different flavors and liked it so far, so maybe i'll get her a kit and a good variety of pre-filled cartos for our anniversary in November if she haasn't switched by then. of course i'll get her some jewelry and flowers and a nice dinner as well, i could see her being pretty ...... if all i got her was an e-cig kit and none of the classic stuff that most girls love.

Well maybe after she switches she'll also get an engagement ring?

Seabrook: definitely been thinking about it more and more, she's a keeper in all ways! part of it is waiting for some exciting things to happen within my business so i know we can be comfortably supported for life, along with providing a proper upbringing for any little ones we decide to have. i know it's just a matter of time though, i ain't lettin' this one get away!

My wife and I purchased E-cigs from Nhaler.com on Labor day. My mother-in-law smokes Kool cigarettes and by the end of the first week I could tell when she had smoked after she came back into the house. Before I started using E cigs I couldn't tell. Now that I can I don't want her picking up my kids after she smokes because the smell is horrible. I can't believe I used to smell that bad. So to answer your question it took a week for me to notice.

These posts are so funny!
I've made comments about how bad my oldest sister smells. I'm embarrassed, I must have too! I used to keep a little NeutraAir in my purse, and some gum, for those times I went to church or visiting someone (a non-smoker!) now can't imagine it helped very much. EEEEwww! It took probably a month or so for me, till my sinuses cleared up! Yes, they did!!

You're right, these posts are funny. I had to laugh when I read you keeping gum in your purse. I used to work in a skyscraper in San Diego, and after break time, I would be stuck with the smokers riding back up in the elevator. They had their mouths full of gum or mints, but it didn't work. They must not realize the smell doesn't come from the mouth, that it comes from the lungs everytime they breathe. When I got to floor, I got out almost gasping for fresh air, LOL.
