I couldn't wait. I think this mod is really starting to come together.

I'm not the biggest 18650 fan, but I know I'm in the minority on that.....truth is sometimes they hard to beat.

Anyway here she is. It's kind of hard to see but there is just a smidge of taper down to the face. Just enough to fit a little more comfortably in the hand, and not feel like your holding a box.

Shaping up really well, isn't there a lipo that is in the neighborhood of 18 x 65? This certainly looks nice and compact for that size of a battery.

Asdaq I could kiss you!!! Got on Hobby King to grab a link and noticed they were finally in stock in the US and UK warehouse!!!

They are Turnigy Nano-Tech 1200mah 15c 15 dims= 15mm x 58mm (if they are anything like the 900 and 1000 I just got they aren't quite round so I would say closer to 15.mm-16mm diameter)

US Warehouse
Turnigy nano-tech 1200mah 1S 15C Round Lipo ï¼?USA warehouse)

UK Warehouse
Turnigy nano-tech 1200mah 1S 15C Round Lipo (DE Warehouse)

Threaded cap removal and built in charger?

No threaded cap....here is what I am trying (I printed a plastic piece but it didn't turn out very good so I scabbed something together)

Concept is two magnets with a bar between them, one holds the battery and the other is used to for alignment and getting the ground into the front cavity. Plus it works as a torpedo tube in the case of a venting battery :D.

Thinking a slide in bottom piece for the next revision, if this setup gets dropped I will likely be picking up three different pieces (main body/batt/bottom cap)

This is what I intended it to be.

As for the charger....With the latest don't charge while vaping warning I don't see a big point in having a charger, other than some emergency insurance. Because if you vape anything like me you would need another mod to use while charging :D. I'm thinking a compact tube with DNA charger in it with an inch lead with normal usb end on it would be fairly convenient, plus you could throw a spare battery in it.

Here is the other problem....It kinda doesn't fit :D

Unless you did something like this....but I haven't found a vertical connector with the same pin pattern

I guess if ya need the shorter length.

That said Brandon first demonstrated the DNA20 with the 10A Panasonic. If you think 10A isn't enough Samsung makes a great high drain 20A, 2000mAh INR.

That's a 10A continuous test, it would not let me post a higher drain cuz of the Pana's 10A rating. But it obviously smokes the Pana. And in other tests I've seem even at a full 20A drain it's just a tad short of 2000mAh.

The advantage here is a normal, real ball buster 18650, easy to mount (lotsa holders out there) or replace, and the ability to charge in a normal charger if needed.

Priced right too.

HID Battery Samsung 20A 18650 20R INR18650 20R 2000mAh Rechargeable $6.99

BTW at what voltage does the DNA20 need to recharge the battery?

Oh what the hell just get the post count up today?

Another plus with the Nano's is that they are supposed to have quite low IR and a flater discharge curve.

The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;
-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.
-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC
-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.
-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

Misunderstood my question. As an example the Vamo quits when the battery drains down to ~3.2V. The Young June LT, I believe, quit at ~3.6V left on the battery.

From Evolv datasheet info...error messages....

Check Battery: The battery is below 3.1 volts. It probably needs to be charged.

And minimum input voltage is 3.2 volts
