I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

That bites BreSha... might have a suggestion but I need to try it out first. brb.

Later: Sorry, but my idea was a bust. All I can do is repeat what works for me: In Windows, with the device on but not connected to the usb, open the UpdateWismec.exe file, then connect the usb and it should recognise the current firmware. Then click update and select the 3.0 .bin file and it should slam the update home.

My experience with Window 7 is that it seems to need a clean windows machine and operating system to work.

I tried the update on my home computer, no luck. The computer is 3 years old and been through alot of fiddling.

I then tried it on my work computer. 6 years old. No luck.

Then using same cable tried it on a newer computer at work that had never had anything connected to the USB Ports. Immediately recognized and updated.

I have performed all the updates on my unit with NO batteries installed. This was done on 2 different windows 7 machines neither of which is new. Just bringing up again due to the issues some are having. I loaded up the updater then connected my rx and no issues with being recognized. It's like if there are batteries installed many of the chips are not seeing it as a computer but a charge cable. So in my mind if there are no batts to charge it immediately recognizes.

When I first connected my brand new rx to my laptop, Windows 10 actually tried to download a driver, but the update completed before it could finish. I have been fiddling with the updater to see what's up but I think this is an issue with the OS not seeing the rx as more than a battery. Interesting...

I just ordered my RX200 & wondering if I will have the same challenges doing the update on my Windows laptop. I don't own a Mac except for an Ipad, has anyone tried with that?
The firmware update program is available for both windows and osx.

Anybody know the default ss setting? I know it was originally for 304ss, is it the same with 3.0 update or have they changed it to the more common 316L?

Got some 0.4mm 316L today and it works great in standard ss mode. When I tried to use m1 with the 0092 tcr it was useless, few tiny wisps of vapour. Is 0092 the correct tcr for 316L?

Also I'm thinking just use ss mode and adjust to where I like it. I'm assuming there isn't the dangers associated with ni200 as people use ss in power/wattage mode. Is this the case, cheers Adam.

Which is a bad idea, unless using LG hb2/4/6 batteries, or comfortable pushing the Sony vtc4 over its cdr.

To be fair, we're all supposed to be using batteries that fit Wismec's specs anyway; "Cell type: Three 18650 cells(discharging current should be above 25A )". "above 25A" = 30A.

So, using the RX200 (250) at the maximum power output is only a bad idea if you don't have batteries that can actually handle it. One could say the same regarding any mod. ;)
