The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
I found 4 new springs. I think they look like the ones in the Woodvil. But they also look like the Grand springs.

Guess I will see if they work when I get my tool!
Rob can answe best but I see no reason why they wouldn't work they are after all just soldered.

Karen I think Grand springs have one hole in the base and Woodvils have two holes in the base. At least thats what I found when I removed by woodvils spring.

I've seen a variety of different hole patterns on the springs over the past couple years. And they woods don't need a hole so they are really irrelevant I'd guess.

I have a lot of wood REO's, all sizes, and am finding the bottom plate on the spring has a hole in almost all of them.

The wood mods spring have a hole for the tab on the switch to slide into . If your going to drill a hole in the spring plate dont hold it with your hand if it catches you can get a nasty cut . I have a jig I place them in for just that reason

Hmmm. I will double check to see if it is a hole that will fit the tab on the switch.

I installed another spring today on my Woodvil. THis time I took off the RM2 and turned the positive contact a 1/4 turn counterclockwise. I reinstalled the RM2 and checked with my multimeter for shorts. So far its vaping well. Last time I did this it vaped for 2 hours then popped the spring again. Time will tell.

I think I found my problem. I don't think I've ever seen this problem before. Truely unique I think. I popped a spring on my Woodvil. What was unusual about that was that nothing had changed and I had been using the same coil for 3 weeks and I never took the RM2 off the Grand. When the spring popped I checked my coil with a multimeter and it was fine. Had no idea why the spring popped.

So I installed a new spring and built a new coil. It vaped great for about two hours then the spring popped again. Couldnt figure it out! So today I installed another coil and spring , tweaked the positive contact of the RM2 a 1/4 turn. It was once again vaping well but the taste was getting mad funky. So I pulled my cotton wick out and was rolling a new wick when I spied something sitting on the ceramic base. I pulled it out and this is what I found.

A small piece of foil had found its way in. I tested it for electrical conductivity and one side was conductive and the other side was not. Apparently it would move around inside the RM2 and when it contacted the coil and side wall of the RM2 it would short it.

PS. The dime was not inside the atomizer and it not included in foil orders to the saboteurs.
