Now, now, lets not knock the games. I don't normally play them but when I was down with the flu and out of PC games I could deal with I did join in on some of them... word ones mostly. I tend to shyness so don't join in social groups but those games kept me going when I couldn't sleep anymore. Games also help regular players get to know each other and the forum seems a bit more homey that way. Not everyone who plays is after post count in fact I never even thought of it when I played for a while.

In all seriousness, Patkin, nobody suggests that word game threads should be banned, or closed--only that they be placed in the social area, with other word and other games, where they belong. We all participate in social threads--they are very important, IMO.

But do you really believe that a person who posted 3000 words in a word game thread deserves the same title of a PV master as someone who provided 3000 technical and complex explanations in Ask the Veterans or any other e-cig related forum?

no, they don't, tweety, but as sarge and classy explained you cannot single out a thread and make it 'no post count' in a forum. and suppliers like to keep their supporters and customers in their respective forum even if it means a couple of game and/or social threads.
so, the question is - which forums on ecf deserve to have the posts count? where do people really contribute to the community?

That's a good question Tibs. I can't think of any forum that doesn't contribute valuable info and that includes the suppliers forums. I don't think there is a solution to this post count problem. Had I known it had been discuss before I wouldn't have brought it up but I've learned from it and hopefully others have too.

Truthfully, I don't have an opinion on it. I was only responding to a post stating the reasons for them which I disagreed with. I don't even know what section games are in. I do two things when I come in here. I look at "What's new" for things I've been looking at via "My Posts" and "New posts" where I look for things that interest me or where I might be able to help. I don't even know what section I'm in when I click on a thread from there. I goofed one day that way replying on a vendor's thread and mentioning another. As for "titles," I don't even know what my own is let alone anyone else's. The only time I've looked at them was when I'm wondering if its a Mod talking. Summing it up... I wasn't proposing not to ban them... never thought that was the discussion... just the reasons that had been put forward for having them.
