Another derby cake. AWESOME!!!!
It may interest you to know that even in cake form I can identify both the boot and the wheels used as models for this cake. So sad... And for the curious, that is a strip of duct tape (in fondant form I'm sure!) on the toe of the boot. We fall a lot in derby and duct tape makes a cheap toe card to prevent scraping holes in the leather. And final useless fact: Charm City Roller Girls are in Baltimore, and their mens' team Harm City is the mentor for our new men's team (which I coach). In fact, that is what I get to do for my birthday celebration: coach a bunch of sweaty men for 3 hours. It's not nearly as sexay as it sounds

DO IT!!! I tell anyone that will listen that if you go once, I 95% guarantee you'll go again. Expect to be confused during the 1st half. It won't make very much sense at first but it'll be exciting! During the 2nd half you'll start to understand when your team is scoring and what some of the penalties are.
