Last year I started vaping/quit smoking. I would vape in the office. After a couple months, the boss saw me and told me "I don't think you can do that in here". At first I wanted to get defensive and fight the "ban". Then someone from the forums asked me, "Is it worth getting on the bad side of the management?"
Long story short, I took it outside. I discovered that part of my smoking ritual included the break from the desk, and vaping gives me the needed excuse to "be awol" for a bit. vaping in the "smoking area" has enlightened several smokers to the vaping world, and I have converted at least three people in the office to vaping instead of smoking. And best of all, when someone asks me if I'm going outside to smoke, I can muster up my best sarcastic voice and say, "No, I'm going outside to steam."
I think I won by losing the initial battle. Good luck on your decision.
