The lack of controls and regulations considering the potential dangers of e-liquids have be worried. I started vaping 2 weeks ago and I am completely off tobacco since day one. But I chain vape ... I agree with more controls and more regulations concerning e-liquids.
I need to know what I breathe.

It can be scary, but I no longer really worry about it. Compared to cyanide, arsenic, carbon monoxide, and dozens of other carcinogens and poisons, etc from inhaling a smoldering plant wrapped in paper (yes your inhaling burning paper as well when you smoke) your probably better off.

Controls and regulations? So... you want your ejuices to be more expensive and taxed into oblivion?

Or are quality controls what you mean? If the latter, most reputable ejuice distributors go to great lengths to ensure their juices meet strict safety standards. Some even mix their products in sterile laboratory-like environments. If you're unsure how someone mixes their juice, why not ask them? If they're not willing to share that information with you, or you're not satisfied with their QC methods, then buy from someone else. A free market will ensure that only the best distributors thrive.

liquids are made with PG VG Flavors and Nicotine period. if you are concerned and don't trust online vendors do what I do and make your own eliquids. its really not very hard and much more satisfying than buying vendor liquids. the problems I had with a lot of liquids was I simply didn't like them. I ended up with bottles of liquid just sitting around not getting used. that adds up to a lot of dollars. now if I make a liquid I don't like, its not that big a deal since I only have a couple dollars invested. good luck

The lack of controls and regulations considering the potential dangers of e-liquids have me worried.

I understand.

We are fairly sure that the potential dangers are minuscule compared to smoking. Until I quit nicotine altogether, that's good enough for me.

Scientists with no vested interest (other than public health or harm reduction) are not concerned *in comparison to smoking*

Government officials and those with an interest in keeping the gravy train of tobacco and NRT like to paint a different picture.

I'm sorry, but the time to be worried about using a product is not after you've been using it. I researched ecigs for several months before I tried the first one.
Regulation does nothing to improve or ensure the safety of a product it just adds expense and red tape. If you are unsure about the safety of the products you are using check out the producer or just stop using the product.

Research from nonbiased, legitimately controlled environments yes. Control...no! Exaggerated taxes...no! The problem is research will come from biased individuals who are backed by hidden agendas. This has been the case throughout the years.

We know tobacco smoking is dangerous and contains thousands of harmful additives. We know that vaping is far less dangerous because there's only 4 ingredients and of those 4 the only concern is food grade flavorings. We ingest these same food flavorings in pies, candies, and cookies but through the stomach. Inhaling said flavorings may or may not have issues in the long term. But... If you seriously think about it. We bake pies, cookies, candies, and fruits every day. We smell the fumes from these bakeries. There's not much difference in smelling and inhaling because we breathe in...then breathe out. Have you ever heard of anyone in history getting an illness from smelling fruits or cakes? I haven't. Most eliquids are mixed with a small portion actually being pure flavoring. Even flavor mixes are diluted with pg. To be honest, I'm not worried at all. I smoked Marlboro lights at over a pack a day for over 20 years. I took in thousands of horrible tar and harmful toxins everyday. I doubt a minute amount of flavoring is going to hurt me. I've been smelling pies and cookies my whole life with no ill effects. :vapor:

I'm a new vaper, but I went into it with health(ier) living in mind. I bought a gallon of USP grade VG and a gallon of USP grade PG up front as well as 100mg nic juice and flavoring. I use a blu since I like the tactile feel of regular smoking and I refill 306 cartos for use. not sure if it's any better than the commercial crap blu sells, but I know what I'm smoking and it hits exactly like a cigarette for me. maybe try that route?

Imagine a world where online ecigs are banned. You can only get supplies from a store that have to sell in a cartomizer only. It only contains 4mg of nicotine. It has a 100% percent tax and costs you $10.00 a day to vape. The only companies who can afford to produce them are Big Tobacco because of the rules and regulations. This is what BT wants. They can then sell their sub-par product that no one will use knowing it will have no impact on cigarette sales. That would make BT BG and BP all happy and we would be the losers.

Absolutely! This is not what we need! Also, if BT goes by their track record there'll be additives to keep you addicted too! We don't need BT sticking its greedy nose in our business!

Every one of you is right. Still I feel that an error or negligence could result in an accident with unkown consequences for all of us. I too am afraid of regulations but we would not drive on the roads without rules and regulations .....

I think we are doing great regulating ourselves. Look at how far this industry has come since 2007. It is amazing. Regulations will do nothing but stops our progress. In the mean time 1200 people die every single day from smoking related illnesses. Think about that and they are heavily regulated.

Its just... Radiator fluid and nicotine..
Do you really need more info than that?
Its just 2 ingredients...
Do you need the FDA to analyze and approve whats in a
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

This is funny...but absolutely right. We smell cookies and pies every day! It's food flavoring! We've been ingesting it and breathing it since we were born!
