Liking the first two WPU's more than I thought I would ever like any rta. The quandary... having to put another TC mod back into regular service to use another one. So which TC mod? I decided on a stab wood Athena Pride 75DNA TC that is so heavy it will only reside on my computer desk (or wouldn't be used at all). So bullet bit, I just ordered a 3rd one (Stainless Steel) due next week.

I'll change the blue 810 DT to an Ultem 810 that will look better with the wood on the mod. ;)

On page 2 I was hoping for an expansion kit from Inked Atty….looks like my wishes came true. Aesthetics are subjective, and will admit it does look odd, but there are much worse looking RTA/bubble glass out there IMO. But double the juice capacity to 10 ml!!! Huge bonus!

I went to my mail place tonight and picked up my third Wotofo Profile Unity Mesh RTA (SS). Also some new wicking and more mesh strips. I set it up with the new to me wicking product Vapefly Firebolt Organic Cotton. It's way easier to wick with this product, and so far has had no issues at all. Will run it for a couple of days and see if that continues to be the case. If so I can see changing to this wicking in all three WPU's (and probably also in my nine Wotofo Profile Mesh RDA's).

Daniel (DJLsb Vapes) suggests using 3 bolts stacked like a pyramid in his video review of the WPU (back on page 2).

I tried 3 but found it to be a bit too tight and maybe unnecessary with the spring loaded Profile decks (in my Dovpo Mesh Pro RDA's with a solid deck they have to be super tight though). So I built this WPU with just 2 bolts stacked one on top of the other. Bottom bolt cut to outside edge of the atty base and stuffed in the wick ports - top bolt cut to the outside of the ports wall and pushed up (just like in the video). No leaks or any tell tale signs of an impending dry hit so far. If that holds up two bolts will be good enough, if not I'll go to three. The bolts are long enough to easily get two Profile builds from each of them. They come 20 bolts to a package. I bought 6 (120 bolts ought to last me awhile :)).

The WPU#4 was delivered a day earlier than expected today. So I set it up with 0.13Ω OFRF mesh, and 2 Firebolt wicks and it's on line on a Fuchai Squonk (with the solid bottle cover that was included with them) for now running my Pistachio Lite Creams DIY. The 3 Sig's and a Pride are doing the WPU duty quite nicely.

I've been wicking with two strips of Firebolt for quite some time. No leaks, problems, or concerns.

Three strips is entirely too tight, and far too much cotton, and results in somewhat muted, subtle flavor. I had to use higher wattage to draw any respectable flavor from the cotton, but that in itself will take a liquid with multiple flavor profiles and reduce it to one flavor.

Two strips results in a saturated, full flavor profile at a lower wattage.

The only thing left to do is see how two strips works in the Profile RDA.

Have yet to try 2 strips of Firebolt in the Unity. Might have to give that a shot next rewick. But have used half a Muji pad (with outer layer removed) which is close to the equivalent to 2 Firebolt strips. I have found that 2 strips in the Profile RDA to be too little. You can get away with it should you keep your wicks fully saturated, but as they start to dry out, they are prone to dry burns. 3 strips works better, 4 strips might be a little over done.

It has been noted that the spring for the pressure plate is greater on the Unity than on the Profile RDA

I've purchased 2 WPUs and haven't had the nerve to build either. I bought them because I loved my Profile RDA's that I use with my squonks. My RTA knowledge amounts to a couple of RTAs that I never stuck with for long.
So, cotton or rayon? If cotton should I use some of the ridiculous amounts of shoelace ended cotton I have or cotton bacon or those Japanese pads someone recommended?
Any other tips would be appreciated!

The type of wick you choose to use will be a personal preference. However, like the Profile RDA, you need to ensure you have enough wick under the mesh to alleviate any voids between the mesh and wick that could result in dry burns. But on top of that and like the majority of other RTA’s you need also need to ensure you have enough wick tails to prevent flooding/leaking and that the wick is thin enough to allow proper juice flow.

There are a few YT videos that demonstrate the proper amount and the Unity also comes with detailed wicking instructions that works well if followed. You may nail it the first time or it might be a little trial and error. And once you familiarize yourself with how the juice flows (there are 2 flow ports per side with the Unity), you could come up with your own wicking technique.

Have yet to use the included Wotofo cotton that came with the Unity – but just by inspection it seems to me to be too thick. I have so far used with success 3 Firebolt strings, and half a Muji pad with it’s outer layer removed. The later being my most common use given it’s cost. I have used the angled cut as demonstrated with the Unity’s instructions, but now I cut in line with the wicking guard (if that is what it is called), stuff a portion of it into the juice well and leave the rest.

I don't use Cellucotton/Rayon, and I am not a fan of the cotton supplied with the Profiles. So I have only used cotton wicking in the Profile Mesh RDA's and Profile Unity Mesh RTA's. Cotton Bacon, Koh Gen Do and now Firebolts is what I have used. In the WPU the firebolts were the easiest to get right with the least amount of effort. \
(Two bolts is just right for them, the bottom one cut to the outside of the base for putting down into the wick wells and the top one cut to the wick well wall pushed up to hold extra joose.)

I haven't tried the bolts yet in my Profile Mesh RDA's. As @Punk In Drublic noted above, it has been suggested that the WPU has stronger springs for the ceramic plate than the WPM's do. That may well dictate how many bolts will be right for the WPM's. Vapefly offers some bolts in different sizes (2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm), so they might also need a specific size of bolt grouped together for them.

Finally went to my mail place this morning and picked up the Wotofo Profile Unity Mesh RTA that had been there since last Wednesday... (my second one with the Gunmetal finish).

I set this one up when I got home with the 5ml glass, tested it with the same DIY in another one with the 3.5ml glass on the exact same kind of mod with the same build at the same wattage. If there is any flavor loss I sure can't detect it. The extra height is not enough to bother me either. So I'll be changing the other 4 of them to the 5ml glass too eventually.

When I get to it I will make a picture or two of all 5 of them on line together.

My count now is: 1 of each Black, Gold & SS; 2 each Gunmetal.

What mesh are you guys using? The Kanthal from Wotofo?

Since I am running 2 of my WPU's on dual series 18650 battery TC mods, one on a 26650 75DNA TC Mod and the other 2 on 21700 TC mods I'm using the nexMESH 0.13Ω mesh in them. I only use the Wotofo 0.18Ω mesh in some of my Wotofo Profile Mesh RDA's that are ran on 18650 mech squonk mods. YMMV
