I have a 24ga build in one, and 26ga build in another. Flavor is good on the 24ga coil, and it's a little better on the 26ga. The 26ga is a much cooler build, though.

Next coil is gonna be twisted 26ga. I've been using ss316, and the 26ga coil performs flawlessly in temp control. For ss316, I've found that high ohm builds (>0.5 ohm) run a bit better in temp control.

BOOM!

Decided to shove an istick Pico in the cart.. pico n serpent will be mated for life.. bye bye D2.. u did good for a whole years now..

I liked the ipv D2 enough to get two IPV D3s. They're a little larger than the Pico, but a little more robust, IMO. Good for a beater mod.

Agreed.. it is robust amd well made.. i really love my D2 but, i need to move on due to lack of SS TC support or TCR setting or volt step down in the D2 and D3.. definitely will buy a D4 if P4U decided to include that features..

What's everyone's favorite flavor build for this little guy?

I've have only run one build but have enjoyed it so much havent felt the need to change it. Fused Clapton (28x2, 32), 6 wraps with 3mm ID. Ohms out around 0.7 to 0.75 and run it in between 30 and 35 watts with airflow about 2/3 closed.

Does the serpent mini get hot easily?

For me, only when I chain vape. I am running the included drip tip and notice if I take too many successive vapes it definitely warms up.

Do you guys think there's room enough to run the coil-legs around the outside of the posts, or would they short against the chimney if you do that?

I like a longer coil & running the legs around the outside would make it a lot easier to install them.
Anything sticking out of the posts, even a little bit will touch the chimney. So yes, trying to wrap the wire around will cause a short.

I have a pair of nail clippers in my coil building kit that helps me cut the wires real close to the post. Then if I have anything still sticking out (try feeling with your finger), I just use a flat screwdriver against it and push it a bit. That does the job and I haven't had any shorts so far.

So are you saying run them along the outside as opposed to going through the middle? If that is the case, no I dont think it would work. Even now I find the need to trim my legs as close to the post as possible or when reinstalling you will hear it scrape or it wont even fit.

Too bad, but I kinda was afraid of that from looking at the pictures.

Thanks guys

Apart from being careful and clipping the wire very close to the post, IMO this is the easiest RTA to build on and has no other cons. I've had zero issues with the two I have been using so far.

I have one on the way but it'll probably take a couple of weeks before it gets here, I needed to try something else after all the leaky Bachelors I had to retire.

I'll let you know how I get on with it when it gets here

Finally got to build my SS Serpent Mini this weekend. Used the coiled wire that came with it and wicked with rayon. As the wire is Kanthal (I believe), I didn't put it on my Pico, but instead put it on my Volt Mini... It's 3 3/4" high (including the stock drip tip)! :D

Can't comment much on flavor yet, as I'm using a newer juice that I don't have much experience with, but it's not bad. I haven't pushed the wattage past 22W yet though either (reading .57 ohms). Tiny little bit of seepage at the air holes (1/2 open), but that could be from filling it, as my 1st tank is still about half full.

It's just so freakin' adorable!
