I went in and rewicked it tighter in the coil, and leaking seems to have stopped. I also made sure that the tails were barely touching that top ledge. The coil is 1.5Ω. Man, it's a crappy vape compared to the dripper I was using, really harsh.
I vaped it with the air holes almost closed off to get the draw I like. More experimentation I guess. Maybe I should try a 2.5mm coil? On my KFL's, Erlk's, and STM's I've always used 2.0mm coils.
The juice is 60/40.
I should be receiving mine today so I'm not speaking from experience, but a review I saw said wicking to the top ledge was for high vg direct lung to prevent dry hits, and if you are more MTL and use thinner juice you wanna wick all the way to the bottom and fill that channel. Also, I've never used one but I know air flow control drip tips are available.

Awright, it's getting better. I moved the coil down to as close to the air hole as I could w/o the leads touching anything, and the harshness has smoothed out, and vapor production is up.. I have the coil installed with the leads on the bottom, now I'm gonna try a coil with the leads on the top, then I can get the coil a tad closer to the air hole w/o worrying about the leads touching anything. I think this is gonna work out ok.

Any one know what size the grub screws are? I need to get a screwdriver type hex wrench for this.

Its listed as a H 1.5 in my mini screwdriver set. Good luck!

I just picked up my new 30 piece hex key set and I found the size that fits my Serpent Mini - Metric 1.3. I have a Metric 1.5 hex key in the set and it is too large and does not fit the grub screws.

I just put in an order for one of these today. I also have a Merlin due to arrive for Father's Day, and it will interesting comparing the two. Nice to have some MTL choices in the sea of multi-coil clouds out there.

Oh, and a Kayfun 5 clone heading over just to check it out. I've been reading some mixed stuff, lots of folks swearing by V3, but still feel it's worth a try

How are you guys wrapping your coils? For the life of me I can't wrap a coil counterclockwise? I know it sounds crazy but I'm having a hell of time trying lol....any help would be great

It's no more complicated than remembering to set up going the other way.

"Grip it and rip it." :p

You don't even need to swap hands/orientation.
If you use a tool/winder, I know some have a second leg hole just for lefty coiling, but that's about the extent of the difference.

Just do it... do it twice and you'll be a pro. ;)

I did my first build on the Serpent Mini now that I have a hex key for the grub screws. It was a little strange as I felt like everything was reverse in terms of the winding of the coil and the placement of the grub screws. I use a Kuro Coiler and I wound the coil counter clockwise without any problems. I built a 2mm coil of 28awg Kanthal that came out to 1.3ohm and it was a PITA to line the wire up with the grub screws - this RTA is clearly made for thicker wire.

When I put the tank section on, tightened it up, closed the AFC, and filled up the tank with juice I noticed that eliquid was slowly oozing up from the sides of the glass by the base. I turned it over and as I had guessed there was no o-ring on the base for the glass. Now, I can't say that I absolutely didn't lose the o-ring, but I was glad that spares are provided. I preferred the clear o-ring that I was missing and there were no spares in that color, but you can't see the color anyway when the tank is put together. I'm getting a little juice on my hands from use, but I don't see it leaking and it may just be leftover from before.

It seems to be vaping fine right now, although I have the AFC closed to the size of the needle on a thumbtack (clearly a cloud chasing tank). The flavor seems pretty good, but not better than my most flavorful atomizers (mentioned in a previous post). I'm going to continue to use it and put a few more tanks of juice through it to better fully form opinions.

I have the afc on mine closed down about the same as you, running a 1.5Ω coil. I have it on my Silver bullet that I had an Igo-w on, and it's working comparable to that s/u. The other serpent mini I got, I still can't get the bottom separated. I may have to end up breaking the glass to get it apart, and I really don't want to do that.
