Would vaping cause dry socket?

Okay, first post, first thread heh..
Today I had an extraction of a ruptured molar. Obviously there is the no smoking warning due to dry socket. Now, here is my conundrum. Would vaping cause dry socket, like smoking does? I forgot to ask, but I bet they would not have had an answer..now I know what you exhale is a water vapor of sorts. Has anyone had any experience with this? Input would be appreciated. :)

I think it's the act of sucking that causes problems, so anything of that nature would be frowned upon. If it were me I'd keep vaping, just very gently.

also the pg will dehydrate your mouth - I just kept cotton stuffed in the crater when I had one pulled

It's the suction from sucking that puts pressure on the socket, dislodges the clot. Depending on what mod you have, it might be possible to hold the button down and get a good burn going, then carefully inhale with zero suction (i.e. your mouth loosely over/in the vicinity of the tip, but not sealed at all.) It's up to you, though - do whatever your doc said is the safest bet, I know, but I understand the jonesing.

Depends on what you're using. I would definitely swear off for a day or two, if you can stand to. After that, if you have something like an AGA or Protank or something with a very airy draw, you may be able to get away with a *very* light draw.

It's your body, do what you want. Dry socket will turn a grown man into a baby damn near instantly. You know what you're up against. Decide if the risk is worth the reward right now, or just wait a couple days and drastically help your case. I had my wisdom teeth and a related molar pulled last October. I waited 2 days. Uncomfortable, but if I can do it anyone can.

Dry socket = dislodging.dissolving of the healing blood clot that forms when a tooth is extracted. It most certainly can be caused by sucking, swishing/spitting and eating incautiously after a tooth extraction. If you've had it previously and if you take birth control you might be at risk. I would be extremely careful and protect that wound until you're on your way to healing.

When I had my wisdom teeth extracted, I still smoked and developed dry socket at one site. It was not fun to get it corrected. But without getting it treated, I could have developed an infection since it's bone and nerve exposed. If you can vape and protect the extraction site, you could probably get away with it. But know you put yourself at risk. If you're determined, maybe try vaping very very gently using one side of your mouth while trying to "block" off the other side with your tongue. It's kinda like doing mouth acrobats but it can be done. Just not sure how effective...

YMMV

OMG I had a dry socket after having a tooth extracted. Definitely got it because I smoked after.

WORST PAIN EVER.

Even if I was still a smoker, there is NO way in hades I would after getting a tooth pulled.

I ended up having to visit my dentist every two days so he could stuff some cloved soaked gauze in the hole.

Whatever you do, DO NOT risk dry socket. Not only is it the worse pain some will ever feel, but there often times is no relief until you can get back into the dentist's chair. A 10PM dry socket would be a nightmare, although the pain is so bad some dentists will reopen their offices in the middle of the night to dress the wound.
