Would you date a smoker now that you vape?

Then what about someone who is Vegan or vegetarian? Or Black, Asian or Latino? Where is the line being drawn for your prejudice?

For me, its fairly simple. Being a racist its stupid. Judging between a vegan and vegetarian, vegetarian wins. It's understandable. You don't like eating meat. Vegans on the other hand seem like they have gone off the deep end and become the zombie like cult religion members for a cause that has no real humanitarian purpose. Vegan's seem to like inventing stances and ethics that make no sense to me. Vegan's are also hypocrites. They are always making food that sounds like non-vegan food, like vegan ice cream. There is no vegan ice cream, just frozen bean squirtens. Vegan cheese? Cheese is made from milk. No milk = no cheese. The ultimate in vegan mockery is vegan bacon. It's just wrong on every level. So people can call me a bigot, but I'll make fun of them none the less :) Afterwards, I'll go out and have a delicious veal parmigiana and sleep peacefully.

Just Want To Quit

When it comes to who I date, or don't date, I draw my line wherever I d@ well please. They may be the nicest, most loving person in the world, but certain traits or habits would be show stoppers that would prevent me from ever finding out. My loss, you might say, and I'm OK with that.

This is how I feel as well. I mean, we all have our pet peeves after all.

As far as the topic at hand. Yes I would date one (as I am convinced I have enough will power not relapse... Hell I'm already going through almost entire days as it is out around town without a vape) but anything long term would depend on their willingness to quit. I can't have it in my house, around my cat, or children when that happens. In otherwords if she isn't willing to quit, it's going to be a very short relationship.

wow this guy just has troll all over it

simple question, if you cannot post any real feedback, then don't

I just was curious about the ecf community on this subject because there are alot of people who won't date smokers and since we are all ex-smokers, wondering if our opinions have changed. I personally wouldn't because I don't like the smell nor want to breathe it in anymore and smoking in the house is a big no no for me even when I did smoke, I would go outside
Troll, me? Hmmm. I don't think I have a reputation that precedes me for trolling, but I'll let everyone else form their opinions based on the quality of my posts.

If you really want, I could do a three paragraph reply to your original question, but you already have your mind made up on the matter. It would be a waste of my and your time - plus that of everyone here - to do it.
Ouch ! That's a little harsh, no ? Why do you consider it prejudice if he/she would not date a smoker ? If he/she isn't comfortable around the smell of smoke, does it necessarily follow that a judgement has been made about the smoker.
My replies were very intentional and yes, I wanted to invoke a response. It seems to have worked.

I need to question my positions, constantly. The moment that I become inflexible, my mind has closed to options and possibilities that I may have never considered. I become a prejudicial "me-too'er". I'm committed to being a stand against that in my life.

My wife still smokes and I am not throwing her out just because I decided to quit a couple of months ago after smoking for 30 years. A little hypocritical to me.

If I was actually dating, I wouldn't refuse to date someone who is a great person (supermodel hot helps too) just because they smoked (within reason).

If the person in question smoked 2-3 packs a day, in the house, in the car, etc., that might be a different story.

Am I bigoted because I won't date anyone unless they have a job and a car now? I mean, I figured out picking up homeless guys doesn't work out in the long run.

I should clarify that it usually doesn't work out because they're also drunks or drug addicts, at least those I married were.

Topic :
Just wondering, even though I smoked cigs for 23 years, I don't see myself dating someone who smokes cigs unless they are willing to switch to vaping. I really can't stand the smell of smoke anymore and now I can smell it intensely from my co-workers who still smoke and brother in law.

I know you tend to the humorous side, but I'll use your post as the springboard for a point of argument, since you made the jump.

I NEVER mentioned being racist. Other people have jumped to that conclusion. I was asking about PREJUDICE - the act of pre-judging a person or persons based on some attribute. Smoking or veganism is a choice of lifestyle, ethnicity is not. I try to be very aware of my prejudices and not let them become how I see or deal with people. Am I 100% successful with that? No. That doesn't mean I will stop trying though.

so would you want to date or enter into a relationship with someone who has a very different lifestyle, values or beliefs than you do?
