We all know that there used to be a smoking culture in the United States and most of the world, but would you all support a similar culture with vaping? As in, you see people vaping everywhere at every time: in the grocery store, in the movie theater, in the restaurant, in the mall, in the retail/department store, in the hospital, even in the elevator. If people vaped now as much as they used to smoke 30-40 years ago, more than 400,000 lives would be saved each year.

I have vaped almost all those places, though it was a Dr. office and the dentist not a hospital, and haven't been to a movie theater lately. I even vaped on a plane, but if you do you had better ensure it is not one of the airlines that forbid it. I don't blow huge plumes out like I do at home though, so I am not bothering anyone. I probably would barely notice another vaper who does as I do, just acting naturally and not making a nuisance of myself as I go about my business.

There already is a vaping culture...we're it, in all of our diversity.:vapor:

Now where is that flag and apple pie icon when you need one?

But we are diverse. I'd never vape in a restaurant (except a stealth vape in the bathroom). I don't care how nice my cinnamon vanilla smells, it's probably going to interfere with other peoples' food. I can't vape in the building at work (and I have certainly NEVER snuck one in the bathroom, never, of course not, why that would be AGAINST the RULES...)

So we all differ.

My sentiments exactly!

I think part of the reason smoking was so prevalent in the past was because of doctors recommending it for people's health. I can't really see vaping heading down the same path. I don't really think vaping looks cool, and I'm a little glad that it doesn't. Nicotine may have some slight undiscovered perks, but I still think that young people are better off not becoming addicted to it. I've been addicted to things that most people consider quite difficult to quit, and have quit them, but cigarettes and nicotine have had an iron grip on me for 20 years.

I think that perhaps vaping will become something similar to using a hukah for flavored tobaccos amongst non-smokers and young people. I hope that it becomes a more casual activity.

I don't know of any doctors after the 1940's recommending people smoke "for their health."

No. I vape so I don't smoke. I would like it to be accepted, although I do not vape where smoking isn't allowed, because I don't like to explain myself, get dirty looks, or have my vapor plume trigger a tobacco smoker to want a cigarette. A "vaping culture" makes me think of something like "...... Chic." I do not want any kid to think it's cool.
