Oh, I'd still be vaping - I just like it so much better than smoking.

If there hadn't been a reo, I'd never know this bliss and so be contented with mechs/regulated and kayfuns/drippers. Now the real question for me would be: "if all the reos in the world suddenly sublimated into gas and disappeared, would you continue vaping?". <shudder>

There better be an extinction level event if all the REOS disappeared. Im cool with that.

If I make it through, though, I'd build a replacement out of twigs and leaves.

I have two set-ups that I don't want to ever be without. One, my Reo's with their RM2's, and two, my Provari's with their Sofia RBA's in the D-base or Slim tanks. I don't think anyone could make any better devices that would please me more. Those are my staples now, although I play around with others just for fun. So without the Reo's I'd vape my Provari's. But I know the Reo will never just up and disappear and that makes me happy. :)

I found a few things along the way that worked OK. They didn't all completely suck... but there were different amounts of hassle involved.

Every so often, I still to this day spend the last hour or so before bed dripping a 3.0 ohm commercial atty on my Kalamazoo Triple-V. I have a few flavors I like to enjoy a little at a time. So, I suppose I'd expand my dripping back to what I did before my first REO (pretty much dripped all the time at home, but not at work or while travelling) -- And, I own several hundred pre-boge-gate boge cartos and probably still have at least a hundred smoke tech dual coils. They worked OK... just sucked to fill and sucked to have to carry a pocket full of cartos everywhere I went. They worked OK for me for the most part. They were never optimal, and never my idea of an end-all/be-all. I don't want to go back to them, but if I had to I could.

As far as my RM2's... I have other atty's I like just fine. They've also just gotten to be too much of a hassle. I have basically 3 go-to commercial attys. Two of those are often hard to get (out of stock when I need to order) and also began to display more and more frequent quality control problems - and the other one though always easy to get, the experience with the vendor has started to go down hill (slow shipping - problems with their credit card processor - inaccurate shipments - slow to respond with customer service - etc etc etc). I got my RM2s because the attys I've been using have gotten to be a hassle, not because I stopped liking them.

I very much appreciate having complete control over the quality of my own atty. I very much appreciate that I'll never again have to wait for what I really want because it's out of stock right now. I very much appreciate the fact I'll never have to hog out some air holes or re-position a post or soak an atty in vodka for two days to get it clean.... But, if I had no other choice, I guess I'd do it because cigarettes were literally killing me.

If I have nightmares about my REOs disappearing, I'm going to come back to this thread and start flaming

Would you vape without a Reo?

 As I was just sitting here in the zone, pulling one of my best vapes ever off a Reo, while playing with the polished silver 14500 mini and a RM that actually fits it - both weekend classifieds buys, I come across the most  rhetorical question I have ever laid eyes upon.

Digging the hole thEmoticon_digging.gif and burying this thread right now.

I have to say, having once had a REO, if mine disappeared, I would immediately kludge together some sort of woodvil from a piece of 2X4. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would work until I could hunt down the entity responsible for the REOs disappearing and adjust their attitude....slowly and painfully. Then I'd snag a machine shop to make one from Rob's specs (you DO all have a copy of his patent, don't you? ;) ), even if it meant a 2nd mortgage.

My first real device was an Ody (remember those?) loved it, hated tubes from the get-go so I built an 18650 box for it, it was my go to unit...then I bought my first Reo...a gold mini...honestly after vaping an Ody with 1.8 ohm coils, having to go back to attys with their super tight draws (for me cartos were out of the question...and those 14500 batts :()...the Reo just didn't take, but what did take was the bottom feed thing and if you guys ever seen any of my early YT vids I've been bf'ing drippers for a long time...then I started into Grands, waaay better but you know what? (and I slap myself) it never occurred to me to LP a Grand  but that's ok, because ERA's and the little iGo S's were pretty good...then I saw my first LP'd Grand (OMG! Duh!)...at that time I didn't have a one so I jumped on the classy's, bought yet "another" Grand and ground it down...

Sorry, for the history lesson you didn't want but the bottom line is, of the almost 5 years I've been vaping I don't think I've not owned a Reo product for more than 4-5 months, I've built and bought a lot of mods over the years and currently own over a dozen (now, all bf's)...

would I vape without a Reo? of course
would I still be vaping had I never owned a Reo, that's questionable...
would I now be without a Reo in the line-up, definitively no...

I can build a mod that out performs a Reo but that's not the point...rarely have I come across a product that the creator literally deserves to be recognized...call it what you want, but so much of my vaping enjoyment is based on my experience of (and shamelessly copied) from Rob's products...my dad always told me... "pay the man for services rendered"
