First off hello to all the new faces on here, I have been vaping for the past 3-4 years off and on..( I have spent alot of money on vaping in this time buying mods, and loads of eliquid )
Last year around this time i fell off the wagon and started back on analogs... occasionally vaping from time to time...:(

Now me and the wife have started a family, and were both trying to get into vaping again, but we are having a hard time finding the best hassle free way of doing it. There are so many new tank, carto, and clearomizers out there and before i spend any more money on duds i'm hoping the most experienced vapor can steer us in the right direction, I currently purchased a few Vision eGo Clearomizers and thought it was the answer we were looking for, the only problem is once they are filled the first time they taste great with awesome vapor, but before your even done with the first fill they lose there flavor/vapor production and can't seem to get it back.

I have also tried the lava tank from volcano.. but the liquid we use is mostly VG and we are getting alot of dry nasty hits. Am i missing something? All we want to do is fill up a tank/carto/ or clearomizer in the morning and be good most of the day with that same great vapor and taste with no juice in our mouth.

I just want to know what the best most hassle free way of doing this before i waste more money on anything else..

I love cartomizers in a tank. I have 5 tanks of my favorite flavors filled at all times. The only other thing I use is atomizers for taste testing. I buy cartomizers in bulk, pre-punched, and rarely get a dud.
What brand name cartomizer do you use for your tanks? also is your liquid mostly vg?

I use Iken Vape 801 fusion and smoktech 4.5 or 5.0 in a phiniac tank or IBT tank a slap yo Mamma tank filling tool. I would advise you to skip the DCC carts and tanks I have yet to see a post saying wow this is my delivery method for life!
My reasoning for HV carts are I have VV or VW mods Might as well use them. I get better battery life cranking up the power over dual coils and rarely burn the filler. I also have a VIP carto punch its cobalt so will take for ever to dull.

I've only been vaping 4 months and have dropped a load of dough. I like the boge cartos. I get the 3ohm cartos from Sure Vapes. They have good prices and free shipping thats quick out of New Jersey. I use 100 % VG Boba's Bounty and punch my own cartos with a $6 carto punch from Sure vapes. I think it is a Smoktek punch? I twist the punch until I hear the pop and then I give it almost another full twist. I do this on each side of the carto and it vapes 100% VG wonderfully! I had a bad time with 100 % VG in my Vivi Novas and Kanger T3's. I used the Kanger T3's with that juice because I have heard from several people it handles 100% VG real well. It diden't do it for me but Boge cartos work real well. I use the 3ohm at 4.6 to 5.0 volts.SV also has the Boge F-16 tanks that do the job for under $6 but the pre-punched carto it comes with won't work for you. Best wishes for your family. It's kinda scarry to me that you vaped for so long and went back. At 4 months if feel like I can never go back to smokeing cigs and I smoked a pack a day for 15 years.

I also have been at this for 4 years...spent thousands but was never satisfied. Being a chain smoker 2+ pad, preparation was too time consuming. I do not want to fiddle...I want to smoke! I started looking at bottom feeders and settled on 50% off Vapage Vmod last summer. I love it! hassle free and I have a choice of atty or carto. I also use 100% VG (Boba's Bounty) and it works perfectly. I will probably buy a Reo later just to see if I like it better but the Vmod is an inexpensive alternative to see if you like bottom feeding. They have a buy one get one free sale right now ending on the 7th. Weird how more people are not talking about these and every time someone posts about them the haters come out. See sig below...finally off cigs with vmod!

I use a carto tank too...and it works great all the time, every time. Unless I get some juice in the center tube..then I just blow it out and everything is great again. The IBTanked and Phiniac tanks are very well made and are highly recommended. I use only one juice and it's not hard on PP tubes, so I mostly use the Boge F16 tanks and the Smoktech ones. I tend to prefer chrome or metal end caps. I use the SYM tool for changing out cartos and the tank refilling tool to top off the tank if needed during the day (I use 4.5ml. and 6ml. tanks).

The cartos I have the best luck with are Ikenvape platinum and Boge. I have used Smoktech cartos also, with success. Since I mostly use mechanical mods I prefer 2ohm single coil cartomizers. I punch my own using the same tool mentioned above. I punch two holes in mine...but for heavy VG 3 might be needed.

I also sometimes use the EMSCCs (eGo Mega Single Coil cartomizers) which hold about 3ml. of juice. They are very nice. 2ohm for those too.

I have had NO luck with the vivi nova, clearomizer, whatever-it's-called-this-week wick type of tanks. The flavor is muted and so is the vapor. Then there are the cracking/leaking/wicking issues that seem to crop up all the time with them. Been there, done that...skipped buying the tee-shirt. No thanks.

I've been vaping over 8 months. I've found my sweet spot in vaping using quality cartomizers in pyrex glass tanks. I currently use variable voltage batteries (Provari and Smoktech v.v. Gripper), but was successful with the same juice delivery devices with fixed voltage mechanical mods (Silver Bullet and BB).

Tanks: IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! Quality pyrex tank with prices starting under $20. I currently have seven and counting. I use the smaller diameter tanks and each one has a different flavor. I use the different colored endcaps and drip tips to tell the flavors apart.

IBTanked-1.jpgIBTanked-2.jpgOCD-1.jpg

Cartomizers: I prefer a cooler vape, so I use high resistance (2.5-3 ohm) single coil cartos; I also prefer laser-drilled cartos in both 1 & 2 hole depending upon the thickness of the juice.

Ikenvape Platinum or Fusions https://www.ikenvape.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1860 Both are great cartos for flavor and last longer in a tank than other brands. Frequently out-of-stock, though.

Smoktek 510 Tank Cartomizers My backup carto when the Ikenvapes are out-of-stock.

Juices: I use several vendors, but my favorites include the two below. All organic flavoring which I believe is superior for flavoring, options to customize order to pg/vg ratio, flavor strength, nicotine strength, etc. In addition, they offer sampler packs to try so that you don't waste money on larger bottles that you may not care for. These juices improve with at least a week of steeping.

Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Vaperite | Organic and Natural Flavored Electronic Cigarette E Juice

Edit: I forgot to mention, I also highly recommend the Slap-Yo-Momma tank tool for anyone using cartotanks. A PBusardo Review - Slap Yo Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter - Big Daddy Vapor - YouTube

I have all J-tanks by electronicstix, I also buy cartomizers from there too.

ElectronicStix.Com · J-Tanks And J-Tank Parts

I also use Ikenvape 801 fusions. The best carto I have ever tried.

Punch! Cartos & Tanks

Most of my juice is 70% PG/30% VG, but I do also run Boba's Bounty in a tank. Boba's is 100% VG, and very thick. I usually punch my own cartos for that, three punches.

I have never bought a carto tank myself. My brother used to swear by them, until he tried my Vivi Nova. He has since bought 4 of them and given up on cartos. To each their own, however. It seems there are a lot of people who find success with either option. I would suggest to try a couple of different options and see which fits you and your wife.

I have to say, if your juice is 80/20 pg/vg, the Slap Yo Mama is pricey.

I use this: Blunt Needle Tip for dropper bottles - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

Works PERFECTLY.

Unless you have high VG juice. Then, yes, get a Slap Yo Mama. Or... just trust yourself while filling your tank with juice. All options work.

edit: @ xanderxman, I tried to sell my ViVi Nova. They wouldn't buy it. I tried to give it away...... and they gave it back. I tossed it into the trash.

Thank you eveyone for your input, I just ordered a few tanks and refill prepunched cartos from vaporcast.com to give it a try, The vivi nova looks like the same design as the vision ego clearomizers which i used and dont work well for me.

(another PV is out of the question, i already own 15 regular 510 batts, 4 ego, 4 ego twist batts, The original silver bullet in black, the big kazoo, missys wetbox, and a few cheap box mods.)

Yay! Vaporcast is my local B&M store!! I wish you would've said, "Hey, Billy the Moustache Guy sent me here". I love leading people to other people I trust!

Oh, one more thing! I forgot to mention, you need to prime your cartomizer first. +/- 20 drops, depending on viscosity of your juice, dripping North East South West while rotating the carto. Don't drip into the center hole!! Only drip into the fiber filler. Once it's "primed", you can slide it into the tank, and then fill the tank. Let it sit for a couple of minutes, then vape away to glorious deliciousness.

One last tip that helped me a LOT. Buy a drip tip like this Google Image Result for http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server1500/94cac/products/255/images/804/510_Drip_Tip_Aluminum_Round_Silver_55052_zoom__83914.1340740279.500.308.jpg or one thats the same diameter or slightly smaller than the carto and put it on the carto BEFORE you insert it into the tank. Some of the filling tools like the one at Phiniac.com can be used for this as well. Will save a LOT of wear and tear (literally) on your o-rings.

Otherwise, the sharp edges on the cartomizers will shave off a tiny bit of your o-rings each time you insert them and they will eventually fail, causing juice to leak everywhere.

Hey, Bill. Just curious about your above statement concerning the Slap-Yo-Momma tank tool. What is your point concerning the pg/vg ratio of juice and using this tool?

The main point of using the tool is to protect the o-rings in the endcaps from unnecessary wear and tear from a carto's sharp edges. It also helps guide the carto through the small holes of the endcaps by its tapered shape.

I fail to see what the ratio of the juice has to do with the usefulness or practicality of the tool.

Ooops, I guess my meaning was off.

I recommend the Slap Yo Mama for quick refilling of carto tanks if you have high VG or very thick juice.

I recommend the blunt needle tip for juices around 80/20 pg/vg.

But now that I think about it, some vendors' suppliers of VG may be thicker than others.

I misunderstood the usefulness of the Slap Yo Mama. I thought it was just for quick refilling of tanks, not protecting o-rings.

Que The More You Know.

;) :)

EDIT: Dammit, now I'm gonna have to get, like, 5 of those! ;)
