That's a crappy way to go about it
when the doc tells you that- it might be too late

what if the doc says "you shoulda quit- now you have lung cancer...."
quips can't save you then....

Well, all I can say is if I didn't have a pv I'd keep on smoking until it hurt. Not a wise .... quip just the simple truth. Tried quitting many times over 21 years.

Not sure I get where I came across as saying anything would help me or whatever.

vaping both nicotine and PG has SOME effect on each of us. I am slowing decreasing both the nicotine and PG in my mixes. BUT according to the USP label on both the PG and VG bottles, it should not be a big concern - at least in the governments opinion. From personal experience PG has better flavor, and VG has better vapor. So if you decrease the PG in the mix, you need to increase the flavoring.

I've been vaping for a month today. I have asthma. While I smoked analogs I had to use my rescue inhaler at least once per day. Since I started vaping (and all my mixes include PG) I have not had to use my inhaler. There is a lot of information out there about the pros and cons in everything, including water.

Look up this information using more than just one source. Also, listen to what your body tells you. If PG isn't good for you, your body will tell you.

I am a nicotine addict and haven't found any information that says if I quit nicotine use it's beneficial for me, but to the contrary it is probably beneficial for my personal circumstances in life. Smoking to get my nicotine fix however was very bad for me. So far in my vaping experience the PG in my liquid seems to actually be beneficial.

As with most things we put into our bodies is a very personal thing in how we react to it and how much benefit or detriment it might cause us.

Keep researching and asking a question. They are never a bad thing.

You know, I got my tent in a ringer by starting a thread about possibile PG dangers when I was on another vape forum. I posted a link to two MSDS listings that were on a vendor's site...well this guy DW (moderator) insisted that I was a spammer and that the MSDS and the safe handling instructions are different (they are combined into the MSDS at the hospital where I work, I am in a respiratory related field). Being that I was new to message boards and vaping I didn't realize that I had to spell out everything for this jerk. Anyway it's all academic, the warnings said that you should only use PG in well ventilated areas. I also posted a link to show how PG is used in hospitals (in pediatrics) and then this moderator seemed to think that I actually believe that neonates vape, and insisted that my links were idiotic...ok. What the article showed was that the neonatal body adjusts to the extra lactic acid caused by PG exposure and there is no damage.
PG is a touchy subject for some and despite what this moderator insisted, It has NOT been proven safe. So I decided to use myself as a test subject. I have chronic asthma/allergies and I am a former 4 pack per day smoker with some vocal problems (I'm also a singer)...quit for 11 years, relapsed, lost the voice, quit again, switched to strong cigars so I did not have to inhale. Still some minor throat irritation. Started vaping. Strangely enough, when I vape straight PG it does seem to irritate my trachea...but for some reason it also clears my throat and that damn chronic phlegm in my larynx seems to disappear! OK it has not been proven safe...or unsafe for that matter. We are essentially the pioneers of this new habit. I only know that PG is not considered a carcinogen. I will take my chances as long as I am feeling good.

Well, nicotine does cause you to run a higher risk of heart attack and stroke due to its stimulant properties and some other effects on hormone secretion. Then again, so does ephedrine and some other OTC drugs! I agree that you must listen to your body, it will let you know if it is happy or not.

Best wishes!
