I object to the term 'fear mongering'.
Sorry about that :) I just use that term when people are saying that nic only or nic with wta juices are bad with out studies to back up their reasoning :p I used that term in a question "Want to learn more about or if it is just fear mongering?" I did not mean to offend you. You and others on here have been really helpful thanks :)

I know what you meant; just others passing by, making it clear :)

Any good comparisons of the different WTA juices yet?
Heya AaronY,
I suspect you're thinking about a comparison between the current two vendors of WTA? I'd like to know that myself, but I only have product from Vapelicious (because that's the only WTA I can get). With that in mind, I recently posted my thoughts on a number of Ethan's flavors all 18mg - Xtra high WTA, except for one @ 24mg - Xtra high, and you can read it here.

BTW - I enjoy reading your reviews, and your comments are what led me to Vapelicious to begin with. I'm vaping Turkish Apricot right now, and it seems to be growing on me. Although I liked it from the beginning, I seem to like it a little bit more everyday. Do you think your 'TA' got better with age?? (Ethan suggested "fresh is best" with this flavor, but I'm not sure I agree.)

Also, I have a question for anybody who knows: Is nicotine automatically present in all WTA liquid, or is it possible to get WTA in a '0mg' strength??? Just curious...

...Stoned is a better description of the effect.
After a couple of weeks vaping Xtra high WTA, I recognize the effect you're noticing. It is very relaxing...almost too relaxing at times, unless it's time for sleep...like right about now.

I'm considering a lower strength during the day...maybe diluting my WTA juice with some of this other 'nic only' stuff currently gathering dust. :glare:

Although one could sort-of have a nicotine-free WTA, it would no longer be WTA !

Only a small fraction of the alkaloids in tobacco make it into the body when smoking; a lot is just combusted as it can't vaporise/escape from the matrix. The profile of alkaloids in smoke will be somewhat different from that of the tobacco itself (and also between different types of tobacco) as each alkaloid will have a somewhat different boiling point and strength of salt bond, particle size to escpe the matrix of the leaf, likelihod to ignite, etc.

A couple of years back I suggested that WTA might well have a profile that is more favored to (some of) the other alkaloids moreso than nicotine compared to that obtained from smoking (this isn't confirmed but feedback supports it). However, that is a good thing luckily as it becomes a 'super-vape' - for those that appreciate/need those other alkaloids, the effects would be better than those from smoking. And one can easily adjust what one can grossly call the stimulating / relaxing balance by mixing with nicotine-only e-liquid in whatever proportion(s) one prefers.

Hence just 1/4 WTA might work well if nicotine-only liquids had 'something missing' but not this was not such a strong feeling. One can also consider using a lighter WTA blend during the daytime, as MikenGA says above.

+++

That one vapes less with WTA is down to two facets of the same biochemistry : it creates satiation (that is more 'balanced'), and that lasts longer. Some of the other alkaloids have a half-life of greaer duration in the body, and part of their effect is also to maintain the effects of the nicotine.

It will likely take some time to get a handle on how much WTA is needed in relation to nicotine etc. I get a bit confused though, but coming from a strictly laymen's point of view that's not surprising.

I'm not even sure how the vender who is mixing different strengths of WTA is doing it. I assumed that when you do a WTA extraction you get what you get. By that I mean you get a mix of nicotine and minor alkaloids in whatever ratio was in the tobacco. At this point I would guess I'm wrong in my assumption. By offering different strengths of the minor alkaloids I have to guess that the chemist is separating the nicotine from the minor alkaloids and working with it from there.

I bring this up because as a long time snus user I certainly do get the minor alkaloids, but I get it in the same ratio that is in the tobacco in relation to the nicotine. It is very likely not exactly the same as smoking cigarettes but overall its..... close enough. There is no high minor alkaloid snus.

Perhaps a chemist or one of the venders selling WTA could enlighten us on what is going on.

My words pertained only to what the end-user can do. I didn't mean the producers.

Personally I don't think they should try to change the alkaloid mix, except by variations on source tobaccos. The end-user can adhust the ratio easy enough. Of course it would be profitable to cut the WTA before sale but I don't think that would be right. I might be swayed on a WTA-lite product line but not sure.

As far I know, the strengths offered reflect the alkaloid content and not the spread of the alkaloids (i.e. all have the same 'as is' WTA profile).

As for trying to go further and alter the profile by say removing certain alkaloids, this might make sense but I'm not sure the science is there to really be sure it would be wise. Of curse one could just try out variations and gather field data but I don't think this is a priority at the moment (though no harm keeping this is mind or even working on it in the background). Let's get WTA accepted first; and that means as it is; otherwise it could be seen as more like a designed drug than an extract.

(Working to remove any trace of unwanted leftovers is a different matter of course and to be welcomed.)

+++

Couple of reasons why the notion that WTA is more 'relaxing' than smoking might be wrong : I might be overly influenced by comparison with nicotine-only vaping; the WTA that is my experience is what I made myself - the process, and hence the WTA, could be somewhat different from what the suppliers produce. If it is so, it's only slight and one can easily cut with nic-only liquid as one prefers.

Perhaps Jerry from Aroma will speak to this?
Ethan cannot post here under his current vendor name because I believe it is too close to another vendors {Vape- A-Licious} I can understand why he doesn't want to change his name but he should've registered it when he was first offering product I guess....
So unless Jerry wants to chime in we won't be hearing from Ethan sadly.

LOL Katya looking for more of a side by side comparison. New industry and stuff so I don't know if there is one yet.

Could you be more specific in what you are asking Aaron?
I offered a side by side comparison.
If you're talking about vapor production, pg/vg/ ratios or what device it was tried on all of those things are simply not relevant to the WTA experience at all!
No one should care how much vapor it produces {if this was your point}.
For users of WTA the most important factor is does it work for me or does it not and where can I buy some of this tremendous product?
Period.
I don't think it really matters about all the extraneous bs that you normally see in juice reviews.
The flavors may matter to some of us but it not as important as whether or not it works. Jerry possibly made a decision to only offer unflavored. I'm guessing to avoid complaints about bs like "it doesn't taste like a,b,c"!
Smart move Jerry!
On the other hand Ethan is on top of his flavor game and so does really well with his mixes. Way to go Ethan!

On another note MikenGA I'm thrilled you liked the Rasberry/Lemon it is good isn't it?

If I had been told this when I first started vaping almost 10 months ago (and I totally quit analogs right from the start without any problems) I may have been interested. True, I bought Tobacco Absolute for my occasional DIY at one time based on the fact that it was extracted from the tobacco plant but I'm not even sure I still have it or maybe I gave it away, will have to check it... It didn't add a thing to my vaping experience. Nice liquids and nice devices have (according to my personal e-taste). I also have to agree it's a pretty bad idea for the community to get nearer to analogs when most people haven't got a clue as to what vaping is and the interests that may be probably dislike vaping a lot. So, all I can say right now is I don't need WTA. I don't think I ever needed it either and I used to smoke a pack and a half every day.

WTA is not for everybody Jorge as we keep repeating ad nauseum.
Is Tobacco Absolute WTA?
I don't know you haven't mentioned where you got it from or who makes it.
Other than a tobacco taste I'm not sure why you'd think it would add anything to your vaping experience unless it was a WTA and I'm not the expert on that.
I'm not sure how or why you think using WTA brings us closer to using cigarettes from vaping.
I smoked three packs a day for 37 years and even though I was able to quit in three days I still was a two fisted vaper.
So obviously for me something was missing but you may not always know or feel that upfront. I certainly didn't know that until I found out that having a device in both hands and vaping 7mls a day wasn't the "norm"! That was when I made decision to get some WTA and check it out for myself. Thank goodness I did because I have curtailed my vaping tremendously when I use the WTA.
Vaping is a highly personalized experience for everyone I think.
Happy Thanksgiving all you happy vapers!

Congratulations, you're one of the lucky ones. As has been said a number of times WTA is not for everyone, it's for those that have not been satisfied by traditional nicquid and have felt "something missing". Not all smokers/vapers are alike, if we were we all would have quit after 5 days of CT since nicotine leaves your system in 3-4 days.

...it's a pretty bad idea for the community to get nearer to analogs...
From my perspective, you've got it backwards. With WTA, I'm nearer to vaping 100% of the time, which means I'm further away from analogs.

If you don't need WTA to help you move away from analogs, then using WTA probably does represent a backwards step for you. Yet, if you're like I was for the last two years, vaping alone didn't empower me to stop smoking. Most recently, vaping with better hardware was a tremendous help, but I could tell it wasn't going be enough to keep me from 'lighting up' again.

ENTER WTA: In the 'nic' of time ;), I tried WTA juice, and the desire for an analog has disappeared...COMPLETELY!! I don't guarantee I'll never smoke another analog, but with WTA juice, I finally prefer vaping. As mentioned above, I'm nearer to being a 100% VAPER than ever before...not closer to analogs; 'further away' is a far more accurate description.

I'm happy for your success, Jorge...and I'm really happy for mine, too!

Surprisingly good!

Brobdingnagian recommended it to me first, then I learned about it being YOUR idea originally. Also, Ethan had that flavor available after Vapercon, so I picked it up at a reduced price. Normally I don't like raspberry stuff - too medicine like - but this is tasty! :vapor:
