For those of you who have used this wick. Does it give off a terrible taste after dry burns like silica and cotton wicks do? I have some coming in the mail to rebuild my protank heads and was wondering if the ceramic wick would correct this problem. Also how does this wick perform for you? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Am I a pioneer with the xc-116 wick? No one has used this stuff? Well I will be the guinea pig and let you all know how it works. I am on the cutting edge of personal vaporizing atomizer wicking with ceramic based materials technology. I feel like Lewis or Clark or Magellan or the guy who invented the toliet, Crapper I think.

I bought it from sng vapors and they do the heat treating before they sell it. When I get it I'll see how it holds up.

:toast: Good luck with it, I have heard it performs well. It just doesn't sound appetizing to me. I've become a bit paranoid about what I'm inhaling since I started vaping.

I got my xc-116 in the mail today and took my evod head I got d.o.a. This is my first attempt at a rebuild and it went well. I used 32 gauge kanthal with the xc-116 with 5 wraps and it came out to 2.1 ohms. When I put it on my protank it leaked like a sieve so I took out the post and added about half the diameter of the wick unraveled to the top of the coil for flavor wicks and to hopefully stop the leaking issue. This was the fix I needed and now it performs great. No leaks and the flavor is great. I loaded it up with my yellow cake flavor that I couldn't taste very well through the silica wick and now it tastes great. Also when dry burnt it doesn't taste terrible for the first 5 minutes afterword. So all in all a great experiance and now I am a master coil head rebuilder on the cutting edge of technology. My loyal followers go forth and rebuild with confidence, we are the pioneers of the vaporizing world.

I got some from sng before. I put in aga's after I torched it. It had good flavor the only issue I had with it was that it got gunked up after a week which really isn't bad but then I had to recoil it, again not bad.

You torched it after you got it from sng? Is that necessary? I thought they do the heat treating and it didn't need to be torched.
