As I mentioned ( and you quoted it )... I had tried what you suggested... ie add a prefix and then attempt to delete ( leave conversation ).

But note spartonstew's post also... he was unable to even leave a conversation that included a participant ( if he did it properly of course ).... so there appears to be more than one cause of the issue perhaps.

Could Be . . .

However, just before "You" replied I did edit and add the following below - maybe that will work for Ya' . . . ;)

If Not - I am at a total loss how to help, especially since I am such a total "novice"/"newbie"/"n00b" about the Internet and WWW . . .

BTW: Once they have a "Prefix" attached to them I was able to delete all of them as a group, including the original "PM'" I sent . . .

If you are the lucky one that leaves a conversation First, you got it made!!! :D
If you are a procrastinator, like me, and try to leave after everyone else (even if just one other person) you are stuck with a conversation to nowhere. LOL

I have one, that is part of the new system, that I cannot get rid of. I didn't leave it before the other party did.

It will get sorted.....eventually

Hi folks...haven't been following this thread since the first couple of days, so please pardon me if this has been covered...

I'm not finding a 'Search Thread' feature. Am I not looking in the right place?

Regarding coupons...is there a simple method to search for a coupon for a single supplier?

There's probably an easier way, but I've been clicking on the little magnifying glass in the search box. That gives you clickable options to do all kinds of stuff.

I'm not finding a 'Search Thread' feature.
when you click on the search box in a thread, there is a drop down box that appears, it has a thing to check to
search the thread
search the forum
is that what you meant? Dunno bout the coupons, I was wondering about that the other day, searching for a particular vendor.

There is only one that I found, however "You" must be in that specific thread and it is only for finding the Author of a post in that thread or forum only . . . Otherwise if Ya' are looking to do a search on a topic or using words (similar to a Boland Search) that is not available for thread searches, unless you use the advanced mode and doing a general search via a specific "Forum"/"Sub-Forum" in the "Tree List" provided . . .

OH and BTW: When typing in an ECF Members Name while their Avatar and name will show, "You" cannot click on it to fill out the request as before . . . "You" will still have to type out their whole ECF Identity in the space provided . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Hopefully this will help "You" until another work around or "Fix" can be implemented . . . :)

Dunno if I'm talkin bout sumpthin different than y'all, but when I click the search in a thread, the box comes down. I can click on search thread, then type subject in the search box, and I get results. Just searched for lila in the BB thread, and they all came up.

AH - Must have been fixed or I did something wrong before . . . Especially since the "Search" function actually worked very well this time . . . More importantly, I actually "Learned" something NEW today and that it is working now . . .

THANKS ! ! !

NOPE - Didn't miss anything here . . . Especially since I HAD the exact same experience, until I did what I explained in the work around I posted here . . . BTW: Once they have a "Prefix" attached to them I was able to delete all of them as a group, including the original "PM'" I sent . . . Try it - It just might work for "You" too . . . Just Sayin' . . .;)

OH NO - "YOU" HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING "ME" - THEY CAN ! ! !

What a World Wide Web "We" live in now . . .
shaking-head-sad-smiley-emoticon.gif

OH MY . . . Thank You so much for letting an "Old Man" who is such a "Curmudgeon" know . . .
old-person-helped-to-walk-smiley-emoticon.gif

NOW - With all due respect - SIR, especially since the same comment has been made more then once to "Me" by so many others . . . AND - Not really to belabor the point any further, however in all seriousness - it seems NO ONE seems to understand - nor wishes to acknowledge . . . That it really has nothing to do with whether or not someone can and/or will copy and then paste someone else wordage on the Internet as their own . . . It has to do with making it that MUCH EASIER for people to do so through all the direct links to their "Social Media" accounts which is without a doubt "plagiarism" in it purest form . . . Just Sayin' . . .

BTW: For future reference, as someone who has been involved on the Internet and World Wide Web for over 30+ years, using a Dial-up Modem and Windows DOS/v3/v3.11 for accessing many different "Bulletin/Message Boards" (for all those too young to remember they were the "Forums"/"Chat rooms"/"Social Media" of yesteryear ;)) . . . I am very aware of what Today's acceptance for the lack of personal privacy entails and that many people can and do just think it is alright since so much is available now given the upsurgence and accepted "norm" that everyone enjoys belonging too and sharing their very personal/private "Stuff" via FB/Twitter/Google+/etc. . . . More importantly, I am NOT that "Young" - nor too "Old" not to be able to adapt to change/s when and if absolutely necessary . . . I Am A Curmudgeon - Not stupid, nor dense enough to learn something NEW . . . Hey - Even having a "Learning Disability", I went to college for the first time at the age of 40 (25 years after HS) and then Graduated in 4 years with both a Bachelor & Master Degree by the age of 44 . . .
Just Sayin' . . .

Well - I really think that is enough from "Me" and explains what I was specifically mentioning as a personal issue and some other's have also mentioned on ECF - I think as gracefully as I can, it's time too . . .

"Well," "okay" "then."

Yep, works for me too. I like the "Posted by Member" thing. Really helps narrow it down. And yep, start typing and a dropdown list pops up to choose from. Nice. Also like that it's all there, without having to go to a separate Advanced Search page.

Dunno what English class they learned that from, but my nephews do exactly the same thing (put emphasized words in quotes instead of italics, underlines or bold). But I think I've finally cracked the code.

"FUNNY" . . .

Well - Let's be honest here and since it seems to be the :offtopic:discussion for the moment and/or such a problem/concern/issue for some people, although I really shouldn't have to defend "My" actions to those in the know . . . Here is "My" code and a copy of what I originally posted on ECF in a "Blog" 2 years ago . . .

“Quotes” – Who does that ? ? ? ? Yes – ME ! ! !

However, since most people do not get it – let me explain and make it easier for them, and especially since it seems that a few people do not understand why I use quotes:

1) First and foremost – When I am quoting someone else’s words –
stupid-duh-2.gif
! ! !

2) Why I use quotes around someone "supposed" or "made-up" name . . . It has been my experience all these years, that People normally, on the Internet do not use their real name/s - so I use quotes, when I speak about them or use the name that they provided in their post . . .

Hey - I know you don't think my real name is "Uncle" - Do You ? ? ? ? (Well that is - not unless you are one of my many Nieces/Nephews, or Great Nieces/Nephews, or even my Great - Great Nieces/Nephews . . . Yea - there are 29 (changed recently to 31) of them in total and I'm not sure I really am even "OLD" enough to have that many yet) . . .

Oh well - that is why I quote Names . . .

3) And the quotes around other words . . . is mostly when I want to use them as a double entendre, or even when I want to say something almost "tongue-in-cheek" or with a touch of “GAY Sarcasm”. . .

Hope that explains what it is all about - "My" Use Of "Quotes" . . . :D
If Not - Well :censored: or Read "My" Signature Line for further information . . .

I appreciate your response but for me it makes many of your posts very difficult to read, which is unfortunate because I'm usually interested in what you have to say.

  Well - Hopefully, "You" will make an exception and be able to use a pair of "Blinders" to shift though "My" Wordage in the future when and if Ya' continue to read any of "My" post . . . ;)
Uncle, I love you  and YOU ARE perfect the way you are! :)
I'll pay closer attention to the "double entendres" from now on. Sorry, didn't mean to offend.

Oh - Sweet "Cindy" . . . "You" of all people did not offend "Me" at all (AND - BTW: It would take a "Heck" of a lot more then that too) . . . Nor - Did "Judge Dredd" for that matter . . .

"We're" ALL GOOD ! ! !

Right - "Judgy" . . . ;)
