I too was not a fan of the brass buttons, so I've waffled all week long about what to do when Vapinart got their shipment of Reds and Blues. After I had finally talked myself out of red and blue for a black limited edition for aesthetic reasons I went to Vapinart to find they were gone. So red with brass it is and I'll just have to find an appropriate drip tip for the GEM to make it fit together.

This sure was easier when I was buying cheap Chinese stuff.

True, dat - but my instincts says that you'll notice the difference (between the cheapies and the goodies). Congratulations, Ye of Tinnish Noggin'!

And welcome to Da Klub.

And the brass really is quite fine (spoken by a man who literally DESPISES the stuff). The first time you wrap your hand around that mod, you won't care WHAT the buttons are made of.

Pleasure, Freedom. I think with Mini, it really depends on their inventory, which they seem to change up frequently. I hope I didn't put a huge damper on the brass buttons for anyone. Some people will undoubtedly prefer them.

Can you even imagine an Xvo with Provape innards!!!!!!! WOAH. They'd FLY off the shelves!

Freedom, you asked what other mods I've heard of that are side by sides. There is a thread here that had slipped my (slippery) mind, and not to take away anything from the Xvoschtik, there ARE other devices (and more to come -- of that, I'm sure). dru started this collection thread, and it's a good one.

https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/listing-side-by-side-mods.706607/

NICE! Thanks Kat&Dru!!!

Thank you, KatDarling - I will wait for the for the SS button version, then (I just want something that works without alot of work...if only Provape made something like this ;)). I noticed that even the mini-ecig website doesn't offer the SS buttons anymore, unless you are getting the combo with the Merkava RTA.

When I bought mine from Mini they only offered brass. I literally got the last one of the batch - which I know because they went OOS right after I was redirected from paypal, and my add-on order# for the upgraded shipping was sequential. After my stick shipped they updated for the next round and viola ... there was SS again ... so they must just sell out faster.

So true! I would have gone with SS were it available - had I been more patient - and if I hadn't thought they no longer offered it. The site is confusing - it doesn't go OOS, it just vanishes. But now that I have it I'm a little glad I do ... It's grown on me.

It would be a disservice to Mark Bugs and the fine work they've done to put the GEM on something that was an authentic Chinese clone. Plus, if it turns out not for me I can sell it. Who wants to buy a used clone?

Blue is more my color, but I just couldn't find a drip tip I liked that pulled the brass and stainless tank together in blue. If I hadn't have been thinking about this for the past month I may have ordered from Mini ECig, but once I decide to pull the trigger I need it now before I can rethink my purchase. :)

And huge thanks go to the insightful and creative mind at Billet Box Vapor for starting this wonderful, hidden (protected) tank revolution. :toast:

And THIS bears repeating. What now, three years ago? Amazing (DD and the BB).

G'day folks. :p
Haven't been online much for a while (health issues, getting better now so it's all good :)), but thought I'd drop by and see how my fellow XvoStick owners are doing. :D

Mine's still going beautifully, starting to think it's damn near indestructible! lol

I was wondering about you the other day, vak. Sorry to hear, but am glad you're bouncing back. I hope it was nothing TOO serious.

All's fine here. Kat and I are continuing our ridiculous collection of Xvo's and clones , and everything seems to be running fine. I use mine daily, in conjunction with my two Billet Boxes. I'd say that I'm fairly well set in the Out & About department.

We're still discussing options of whether or not to unload anything. Given our preference, we're leaning against. But being vapers, everything is subject to change.

LOVING it.

And it's great to see you. :)

I guess you could call it "semi-serious"? lol
Put simply a weird, rare, hereditary disease that wasn't going to kill me, but made life miserable for a while.
I'm now popping a couple of pills each day for life, but getting back to normal, so I'm happy enough. :)

Haha still loving the Xvos then, nice! I still find mine perfect for work use, but I can't see myself buying another... not until this one dies anyway (and I can't see that happening anytime soon). :D

I actually gave my rdna40 to a friend who's just started vaping, so that was my excuse to buy a Dani Extreme to cover the gap haha. I had a hankering to own a tube mod again.

Well, like I said, I'm VERY glad you're OK. And just in time to enjoy the summer, yes?

We didn't intend to buy more than one. Some complications, that you may or may not read of in the back pages, threw our initial plans WAY up into the air. It was all SUPPOSED to be temporary, but holding these dang things is, well, enlightening.

Even with all the pains, it's difficult to not admit that they (Mini) hit an absolute home-run with the design. I'd hate to imagine not having it, now that I do.

We'll be doing a comparison between the authi & clones later this evening (your Saturday afternoon). At least that's the plan.

Yes! And very glad about that, I have fishing to do!

I glimpsed something about sticking buttons (not an issue I've had)... but apart from that no, far too many pages to catch up on. I hope it's all sorted now mate!

I agree, it's a beautiful design. It has its "quirks", but overall it's a great pocket-friendly device. :)
I've actually had mine fully disassembled (damned curiosity haha!) and I was impressed with how they fit it all in.
And surprisingly, I got it all back together without destroying it! :pervy:

You've got more confidence than I do. If I took mine apart, it would return looking like a tube mode (or worse). ;)

I've only felt such an immediate "HIT" of enlightenment twice before the Xvo. The first, was my very first Provari (so many moons ago), and the 2nd was the one that hails from your land, the ever-marvelous EPM. The rounded body of the Xvo was immediately reminiscent of the feeling I had with the EPM.

Which, by the way, both of mine (dual 18650 and dual 18490) are still running as well today as the day I got them (close to three years now).

Normally I wouldn't pull something electronic. But my Xvo had a slight misalignment between the top/bottom halves which made battery fitment too snug. So I undid the base to reach the two main screws... and then I got curious and kept going! :D

Ahhh the mythical EPM mod that I've never seen in person, only photos. lol
Yeah... the Xvo seems to be a near ideal blend of box mod for compact size, and tube mods for hand comfort (it is after all rather similar in shape to two tubes side by side). ;)

Most of the things I'd like to see tweaked in any possible future "version 2" wouldn't affect it's overall shape at all.

*Slightly larger atomizer cut-out, just so it's easier to install/remove attys.

*A different atty connector. In particular the positive pin needs to be larger/more substantial, I'm always concerned one of my atomizer positive pins will damage it. Hasn't yet though! lol
Plus, for temperature controlled vaping the more solid the connections are the better.

*No idea if they've changed it for current models, but my first generation Xvostick DNA screen in the base has a little bit of flex.:p

That flex was by design, vak. Scott explains it in his video review, if you ever get a chance. Mine are the same, and I don't believe they've changed it.

To hold an EPM is to know ultimate comfort. For a topper mod, it's another that simply can't be topped, design-wise. Everything fits perfectly.

And the Xvo comes VERY close to that comfort level. If it had a center button, placed JUST below the crease, it'd be neck and neck.

Really? Interesting. I'll have to look it up later, thanks.

I just saw an EPM on AVF too! lol
Not tempted though... my vape budget is limited for the next couple of months, can't afford to buy it just for kicks! :nah:

For how I hold my Xvo, having the button there would actually be too high. I don't fire with my "pointy finger" though (Busardo had me laughing so hard calling it that)!

Yeah - I'm over there too (with a significantly different avatar). It's not something I'd tell someone to go out and buy today (34w max), but I think you'll find that existing owners remained thrilled with them.

You're on the correct path the Xvo. Topless mods are The New Black (as they say).

I'm a thumb-firer. With the Xvo though, ring finger rules.
