I've only had mine for a few days, but thanks to this thread I learned the following things;

Something wasn't right initially and there was a bit of redesign on the buttons.

How to fix a ground problem with the adjusting screw.

There would be more annodized colors that hopefully weren't 2 toned.

The first and the last were important because by waiting on a red from VapinArt I was sure to have the latest version and not some leftover from another run. It also insured that I didn't have any weird issues with getting it. I'm not very patient once I decide to pull the trigger.

As for the ground problem, I set up my new GEM by taking the disk out and through trial and error figure out where very thing aligned so the atty was down, the air hole was where I wanted and the set screw was in a good place. Everything is adjustable, but there are way too many things that require adjusting with mine. Once that was done I took a drill bit and and cleaned the anno of of the set hole and gave every thread a coat of detox it gold as it went back together. I have had 0 issues with this setup.

I have another GEM that was a prototype, I set it up with all the production parts once I got the new GEM and figured out what was what. I keep a seperate flavor in this one and use it on anothe mod. When I switch it to the XvoStick it becomes a bit erratic, probably fires 4 out of 5 times and needs to be cranked down a bit to fire again. FWIW I've screwed an old Subtank on it and haven't had any issues which leads be to believe the adjustable 510 on my GEM's is the problem so I expect it to go away once I find that happy spot for everything.

I think setup is a major thing with the XvoStick, I absolutely love it even though I'm still not sure if will replace my REO's. I need to carry it for a while and get used to it's daily regime which is a different hassle.

Hopefully this will help some folks on the fence.

If I get one it would definitely be from VapinArt but VA or not, does the mod still have QC issues to where it would be flaky? I mean, I've seen the few that had internal shorts and then there were the sticky buttons and all. Just curious...

At this point? Who knows. We certainly don't have any communication here directly from Chels as to what he has done... or not done.

What I do know is I'll take VA's 7 day policy over sending it back to Israel, any day.

VA told me to send it back for exchange! They'll have it tomorrow!

Black & Brass Authie from VA. Did the "Wisk Tweak" right out the Box.
Zero issues or complaints so far (fingers crossed and chanting Vape Mojo Mantras).
Diggin' on it and hoping the good Vapes continue to roll

Excellent! So happy to read this, Hitcatt!

Well, ya dooo know I gotta get one sooner or later. It looks the perfect carry for me and killer with a Buki. PLUS!!! I'm sure that seat belt will save a LOT of Kabuki tanks ;)

If you've got the patience, it's truly an amazing device.

But man, ya (sometimes) gotta work for it.

FYI, my LE from VA has been flawless as well.

Sadly, it doesn't look as pretty as it did new, thanks to a drop down four concrete steps and onto and across my garage floor...but it still functions 100%. Even the MB GEM that was on (in it) during the fall came out unscathed.

Hiya BTD! Good to see you. And thank you for this post. It's a sturdy lil thang, and those drops just gave her some new "beauty marks". :D

+1 on getting a clownstick. For the price, they're really ok. One can't expect the precision of the authie, but I'd say go for the clownstick.
I've been waiting for this nod for weeks! Thanks.

It's not precisely like the authie, pokes, but it is seriously fine for a less expensive option. If you don't have an authie, there'll be nothing to compare it to anyway!

It's fine for the price.
